Also, has anyone else got a Wii? I bought Wii Fit for the missus for Xmas (I wasn't being rude - she requested it) and just got a game called Family Ski. Being a snow skier it is a very realistic and highly entertaining game! Thoroughly recommended.

So many people in various forums bag Wii Fit as boring and not worth it, but I have been enjoying it since Xmas - an effective way to get off my ass and do some exercise and have a bit of fun while doing it. I have had many 1.5 hour sessions where I can feel afterward that I have had a decent workout (some of the exercises are absolutely brutal) yet the time flew and was fun. Bizarre - I never though I would get into it - but I have used it much more than Carolyn at this point (but I need to whereas she doesn't lol). I have noticed my fitness and coordination has improved in the short time I have had it, so that is encouraging.

i cant find this family ski anywhere??

It is very well sorted Pete. I haven't used it as my daily PC, but have mucked around a fair bit and haven't managed to break it. It basically is what Vista should have been and is quite similar. It is currently stable as.

The biggest revelation is the speed - I have it installed on a spare crappy AMD Sempron 3000 with 1Gb of ram and it runs very sweet indeed. Would no doubt blitz on my quad core Phenom, but I already have a dual boot setup and would not be game to break it with a triple boot scenario.

If you want a copy let me know, but you will need to register with MS for a key (easy to do).

you got a link ?

also , what drivers will i have to use for my creative x-fi to get sound on w7 ?

or will it automatically apply its own drivers ?

will it pick up my 4gb of ram or just the usual 3.25gb like 32bit os

cheers

I am running a copy of Windows 7 in VMware under Vista x64. Runs really well with 1gb assigned.

If you want to use the full 4gb simply download Windows 7 x64

    • Thanks for the suggestion of being on it. As the car has a break in tune, I went and hit 10psi a few times while driving, drove it kind of like a jack ass for ~1.5 hours, did another test, and all 6 cylinders were at/just below 125PSI. I took photos of it this time as I only my memory to remember seeing 150psi. As for the ones that were low, my battery is kind of shot and dies pretty quickly if not charged, so I'm going to assume I just didn't let them build up enough compression or the battery didn't have the power. The 150psi for #4 is definitely odd, but having no photo proof, I'm just going to make note of it. I'll retest it again when the car is cold to see where things are, but everything is insync now so 🤷‍♀️
    • Yep will do. Thanks! I'm keen to do a next update.
    • I've thought about DCT, and I think in pretty much every way sequential wins. You still have a pedal clutch, which means you can make it take off exactly how you want. There's no computer trying to work out if you're about to go up or down a gear. Without looking at the math, I reckon sequential will be a quicker shift. How they're setup, both can only go up or down 1 gear at a time. Did I mention no computer needed, so it can't ruin your day with some weird edge case with the sequential? I've not really ever found an auto box I've ever been 100% happy with even in normal daily duties, and the few DCT vehicles I've driven have the same issue. I would be intrigued to take a crack at reprogramming a DCT and seeing how well I can truly ruin my day for myself...
    • The stealth of it is sick. Custom tow bar I assume?
    • These are also true. I do try to separate myself from the rest of society though. I'm starting to get evil DCT scented dreams though.
