Agreed, Cable's plans are horrid and upload SUCKS! I like my near 100kb/s upload speed.

If my plan was to rise by more than $5 Adam Internet was my next choice.

Still might yet as I have a couple of mates on the same exchange 'communitynet ftw'.

Definitely.. Counting uploads is just arse.

All depends on what you use it for Madaz.. 10gb's shared upload and download definitely isn't much for those with relly's overseas.

In the past I've found I've required the ~15gb for streaming lectures from Uni not to mention remote logins via Xwin32 when programming or working in sql/webservers etc etc.

All becomes fairly bandwidth hungry.

For general usage.. My oldies without 'pirating' scrape in at 8gb per month.

Now they are forced to pay a little more

They receive and send a hell of a lot of emails with video's attached, msn webcam overseas etc.

For them 10gb with shared upload and download as telstra uses is simply not suitable.

i got telstra cable.....60 bux a month unlimited downloads, speed seems fine. dad and i use at least 10 gig per month between us, plus we split costs anyway. never really had any issues with them either. tech support people are good too

Serity1,

Telstra used to call it unlimited, there was quite a stink about it as it wasn't really unlimited so the term unlimited has been dropped.

The plan you are on is capped over 12gb. Speeds drop to 6.4kb/s.

The bugger is as mentioned earlier in the thread they count uploads towards this 12gb of data block.

But for the majority of users this isn't a problem.

Their upstream bandwidth is ~128kb's for the plan you are on.

Until you try the adsl2 upstream speeds you really don't know what your missing. The faster upstream makes everything work just that little bit quicker. Especially when downloading and doing multiple things at once.

yeah i love the ADSL2, there is no way in hell i'm ever going back to anything with slower uploads and down loads. For work i can use over 20Gb a month downloading all the software, 3dmax, latest photoshop, illustrator ect (company account FTW )as well as uploading and downloading all the files ect and VOIP for 4-6 hours a night really starts to add up.

still haven't got into any torrent programs. i tried one and it wouldn't work so i gave up.

and i don't get time to play games  every now and again i will have a race of GTR2 or RF but thats about all these days.

still waiting for this elusive SAU LAN that has been bought up a few times but never got passed talking about peoples houses and what they can fit in

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
