ok just a question since im a bit new here i was wondering if a NA 1995 RB25de Skyline GTS would have a chance to beat an 180sx in a race ..... mmmm is there anthing i could add or mod to the skyline to beat the 180 ?

Cheers

is the blonde one hotter than the brunette one?

what qualifies as a race? a lap around your local track? i take it you mean a 1/4 mile drag

hmm... if it was an SR20DE or a CA18DE then you would have a chance

if it was a stock CA18DET (maybe??)

dont even bother with an SR20DET

without doing major engine mods you could strip out the interior of your car, extractors, exhaust, cams, safc, some fat semi slicks, fiddle with your intake and maybe clutch, diff and become a better driver.

ohh and nitrous.

quite a pointless question really - if you would just sit down and think about it realistically you'd have your answer.

to be blunt - grow up and think about what you've asked.

someone will always be faster than you and it seems like you just want to claim bragging rights with this car you are going to buy soon.

lol i dun want to claim bragging rights and i asked this question cause i danno much about cars....and dude i already bought the car i just wanted to know is there any way a NA would beat a Turbo if ur goin to reply to me with such a "grow up" attitude then go have a cry not being harsh and yea the brunette is hotter then the blonde im sorry to make u cry just cause i don't drive a supped up turbo charged mobil doesn't make u any special to chuck ur attitude problems on me aiight enough said....i dun drag i was just wondering its not my fault that u take the question to seriously....

sorry to make u cry just cause i don't drive a supped up turbo charged mobil

just how old are you???

and for the record i drive an R33 GTS25

p.s: if you want to get nit picky with details car vs. car threads arent allowed... waaahhhh mommy....

rofl im sorry aiight im 18 :) i didn't know that car vs car threads arn't alloud ahahah well thanks for the info ahahah what u think im like 13....i don't think 13 year olds can drive .... ye mate i own a nissan 1995 GTS25 too aye i might go buy a half cut RB25det and do a transfer when i feel i can drive properly with the RB25de hehe

lol i dun want to claim bragging rights and i asked this question cause i danno much about cars....blah blah blah

How stupid are you exactly? Why do you want to know if car A can beat car B unless you're after bragging rights? Or are you just a collector of useless information?

If this forum had a thing against people who don't drive "supped up turbo charged mobil" then they wouldn't have a NA forum would they?

And you can modify anything to go faster than something else. All it takes is money.

lol im not stupid maybe the thing is that i havne't been on this forum before and if ur goin to have a sh%$ and don't have anythign else to post except for calling me stupid then don't post in this thread cause seriously if ur that curious to know why i want to know if car A can beat car B or not then i think ur the ones who's real stupid....as said before up top NA's can't beat turbo...so i got the answer so wtf are answering this thread is gone so open ur eyes dude and read the things people right instead of saying "exactly how stupid are you"....

seems like a few of you people got out the wrong side of the bed this morning.

give the guy a break or you might end up with a warning!

hope the moderators treat you worse than they did me because my comment's were no way as harsh as these posted one's.

and another thing if the mod's dont give you one, i would think theres double standards here!

seems to me mate you already know the answer

Eug- I didn't think there was a CA18DE 180SX ever released?

Some of the later model 180sx's did come out with a NA SR20 though, I'd think a NA R33 should beat it, thats just my opinion though.

CA18DET put out 130kw? S1 R33 RB25DE is around 140kw and weighs a few hundred kilo's more.. I'd say 180SX.. most are at least slightly modded anyway and those mods on the turbo 180SX are going to be a lot more beneficial to power output than similar mods to a NA (ie exhaust, intake etc)

As far as an SR20DET 180SX, good luck!

I own an NA R33 and I dont race it but when I was up the coast the other week my mate in his SR20DET 180SX with 2 passengers was leaving me for dead out of servo's etc.. they put out more power and weigh less so it's to be expected..

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
