Cheers,

Disclaimer: Speeding is bad and people shouldnt speed. Plus you could get a really bad batch made with dodgy home made checmicals. :P

Thanks mate, im not from that side so didnt know if they did or still had them.

I know where the fixed cameras from the western suburabs are. I dont think any of the ones on the western ring road are working

However, theirs some new ones thats working (cos my mates mum got fined 3 times in one day..poor lady) goin towards the city just under the millers rd exit ramps and under the millers rd exit signs going away from the city. so be careful everyone.

no wukkers mate i travel down the eastern all the time and i dont even see cop cars till you hit the Chandler Hwy exit inbound...

\yup thats right..however I did get pulled over travelling into the city...they got me on radar off one of e exits... just be careful as u approach an on ramp cos they hide up there and wait for you to come past...but its rare anyway.

they are allways sitting on the entry ramps onto the freeway. Have seen them several times on the middleborough rd entry ramp towards the city and the doncaster rd entry ramp goin towards nunawading. so be careful, they allways sit there.

yeah no fixed cameras but definitely mobile speed cameras on the onramps on Doncaster, Tram and Middleborough roads. Definitely not a good idea to speed around there.

New camera locations submitted to The Australian Scanning Board Here's

a quick summary of on what roads the cameras can be found:

Westgate Freeway - Princes Highway - Operational.

1. Top of Westgate Bridge

2. Hoppers Crossing Overpass

3. Point Cook Overpass

4. Point Wilson Overpass

5. Little River Overpass

6. Corio

7. Norlane - (just before the waterslide)

Note: These are elapsed time trigger cameras; they estimate your average

driving speed between checkpoints. So slowing down before each overpass

will not fool them.

Western Ring Road - Operational

1. Boundary Road - Laverton North

2. Western Highway - Ardeer

3. Calder Freeway - Keilor East

4. Tullamarine Freeway - Tullamarine

5. Pascoe Vale Road - Glenroy

6. High Street - Thomastown

7. Plenty Road

The Eastern Freeway 5 cameras, operational.

The Monash a further 5 cameras in addition to the one that has been

operational since 28/12/01. This one is approximately 600 metres from

the entrance to the Burnley Tunnel.

The Calder Freeway from Keilor Park Drive to Kyneton has been earmarked

for 9 cameras, estimated operational date to be advised.

The Hume Highway to Albury has been earmarked for 11 cameras, estimated

operational by 7th June 2002.

send me an email at [email protected] : if you want a text file listing all the fixed speed cameras.

hope this helps the confusion.

peace out!

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
