Hey guys,

At what kilometres does an engine need to be rebuilt?

Im looking to import a gtr with 164,000 k's on it.

I will be throwing new turbos in it as soon as it comes but just wondering if the engine is worth a rebuild or wait a little longer?

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

if you have the money and the time its always better to do it befor it breaks and have a great car stright out of the block, cos if you dont you will always be saying cant do it this weekend due to something or dont have the money anymore and things like that.

so my two cents are to do it when you do every thing else cos it will save money in the long run. One job not two or three

Kyle, at that mileage it is probably getting close to the end of its life, although there is no way to be completely sure unless you get a compression/leak down test done. A worthwhile exercise if you are going to bolt on some go fast gear.
