hey everyone, i have study the map and i hope i wont get lost (fingers crossed) but for the sake of a good cruise, can someone else take the lead as i dont want to take a wrong turn and see every other car go the other direction from me lol....

and no ending locaton has been organised.. so i guess we will go where we want on the night...

Sorry to pull guys but i cant make it. My car is sooooo not ready for next week dyno night...

I am in the process of putting it all back together atm...

The earliest i could get it into Matt Spry is next Thursday (the day of the dyno night) at 9am... So here is hoping that nothing goes wrong otherwise ill be stuck down the gold coast... LOL

sad to hear that col.... i would offer a lift, but sadly it looks like im going to have 3 people in car as it is... and i dont think 4 would fit to nicely

Serious question?

Why SAU?

whynot pulsar.org or something?

Not much stuff happens with the pulsar forums...

Just got my car back on the road after a long hiatus and wanted to take it out with some other predominantly turbo cars and have some fun.

Plus I live about 5 minutes from the airport :P

Anyway, seems like its only really Skylines so no worries anyway :(

Please come say hi though.

By fun I meant checking out some nice cars, going for a drive, etc.

I ain't no FF Hoon :(

Well if I'm welcome I might pop round and say hi and checkout some of the awesome rides on here in person :P

OK, I'll answer your query

Directions for those that will use the Gateway

If you are coming from the southside using the Gateway, you need to take the East-West Arterial Road exit off the Gateway.

You then drive down to a roundabout (you need to turn right as if you were heading for the airport).

You will now go under the Gateway and you'll be heading for another roundabout.

Go straight through the roundabout (again as if you were going to the airport)...you should very soon see the DFO on your right hand side (I hope you do, as I've never been to DFO, but have seen it from the car).

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Karen

thanks heaps mate, (smr33) which way do u think would be the easiest from the south side, im leaning towards the gateway.

Hey Col, if you need a lift I have an empty car. But I will be having a fairly early night as I start work on Friday morning at 5am.

We need your camera skills!!

PM your address if you are keen.

Dave

Gateway for sure :worship:

Paying the toll is worth it as then you don't have to stuff around with Riverside Expressway/Sandgate Road nightmare :D

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate
    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
