Righto since members of this forum cover a large area across all of Sydney it would be great if a list of popular nitelife hangout spots could be created to assist people from other areas that are looking at venturing out. This could be a list of Pubs, RSL, Clubs, Raves, etc but not restaurants.

I'll create the first review to give the template and everyone else can continue:

Name: Bloc

Location: Penrith

Address: High St

URL: www.bloc.com.au

Open: Fri + Sat nite after 9pm

Ideal time: After midnight on saturday night

Entry Fee: $15ea

Music: Dance + RnB + Hip Hop

Dance Floor: Yes

Seating: Lounges + stools

Pokies: No

DJ's: Yes 2-4

Bars: ~4 bars, mainly bottled pre-mix alcohol

Parking: Plenty of parking nearby, security risks though due to bad lighting.

Comments: Only a new club, best in the area, very popular, security tend to hold you outside in queue for 10-15mins but it is getting better.

Rating: 7/10

Man this thread could go on for ever!

I'll give one... my one true home...

Subbies @ Home on friday nights. (forgetting the new changes they've made to include some damn emu bands...)

Friday night usually from 11pm - 6am

Downstairs, varying quality trance banging out through new 1 million dollar JBL vertex system...

also great breaks in a different level and funky house on the half rooftop...

entry is $25 and you go there to dance!

security is usaully very friendly but eyes are always on you...

Sydneys one true super club and thought of this around the world...

located next to imax at darling harbour!

Burnsey

Name: Break Inn @ The Chinese Laundry

Location: Sussex St, City

URL: http://www.jammusic.com.au/thechineselaundry/

Open: Fri nite after 11pm

Ideal time: After midnight on Friday night

Entry Fee: $15ea (International DJ playing bumps price up to $20)

Music: Breaks

Dance Floor: Yes, 2 rooms

Seating: Lounges

Pokies: Upstairs, yes

DJ's: 2 Rooms... many DJ's over the course of the night

Dress code: Very relaxed. No stubbies and thongs obviously, but they definitely wont bump you if you arent wearing $600 sunnies and a Tsubi T-Shirt

Bars: 2 - Beer on tap + premixers... the usual

Parking: Secure parking available nearby, but it usually closes at 3AM.

Positive Comments: Suited to a slightly older crowd (20+). Relaxed attitude. Often international DJ's. Awesome local DJ's too. This club is for people who enjoy their breaks music! This place has been my favourite club for years!

Negative Comments: Parking can sometimes be difficult. Slightly small. Sometimes crowded.

Rating: 9.5/10

--- I've included a dress code in mine, because a LOT of clubs have a dress code (some require collared shirts etc.)

Name: Kink @ Arthouse

Location: Arthouse Hotel, 275 Pitt St Sydney

URL: http://www.eyecandyentertainment.com.au/

Open: Sat nite from 9pm

Ideal Time: After Midnight

Entry Fee: Usually $25 each. Contact them for group bookings which drops it a bit

Music: House & Breaks

Dance Floor: Yes, 2 rooms

Seating: Seats and lounges

Pokies: No!

DJ's: 2 Rooms... many DJ's over the course of the night

Dress code: VERY sctrict. See Comments.

Bars: 2 - Beer on tap + premixers... the usual

Parking: Usual Saturday night city parking - CRAP!

Positive Comments: The eye candy at this club is EXCELLENT. Music is pretty good depending on your taste, as there is often an international DJ playing some commercial stuff.

Negative comments: You either have to look like a million dollars (worth of clothing OR plastic surgery), or be able to knock out the door man to get in after 12:00. You need to be dressed well to get into this club!! Also most nights it's 50/50 guys to girls entry after about 11PM, so a bunch of guys alone will not get in.

This club is less about the music and more about the 'scene'. If thats what your into, you'll have a great night!

Ideal Time: Friday/Saturday nights 8:00PM onwards

Entry Fee: Varies between free, and $15 depending on the night

Music: Huge range from: Jazz, House, Breaks, Techno, Ambient, rock etc etc

Dance Floor: Yes, 4 levels all usually playing different stuff. Pool tables etc upstairs

Seating: Seats and lounges

Pokies: Yes

DJ's: Sometimes, depends on the night

Dress code: VERY relaxed. This is a backpacker pub basically

Bars: 3 - Beer on tap + premixers... the usual

Parking: Usual city parking

Positive Comments: Nice place to start the night with a beer, or as a last resort when some of your mates get rejected from elsewhere! :P Usually always heaps of people around. Really relaxed place with (usually) very friendly people. Nice place to hang out before or after a big night.

Negative comments: Parking can be difficult, but this applies to most of Kings X. Only occasionally has 'danceable' music (of any sort).

    • I didn't know about induction heaters but checked them out and they look awesome but too pricey for the occasional job like this. And I'm too nervous to take a flame anywhere near there as the petrol tank is so close, although I was intrigued with the crayons suggestion 😁 I filled a coke bottle lid with penetrating fluid and raised it on the jack so the nut was submerged in it all night. Then went in with a tiny cold chisel and got it almost to the point of splitting but not quite (I didn't want to damage the bolt threads). Then I hammered a socket back on and gently worked it until I felt movement. And it's off 😀
    • I should. But it already uses too much fuel for a daily. You might note my recco for engine chnages are almost exclusively to people who have it as a weekender/summer car. I don't even have room to keep the spares for this one, let alone another car.
    • If I had "perfect R33 GTR" kinda money I would have bought one of the crazy expensive low mileage HJA cars, but I am sadly not that wealthy. I already picked this car out of various Skylines for sale locally, most of which were worse in some way. Only a few cars were actually better but also more expensive. In terms of buying a motor locally, I at least have the option to inspect it myself and juding the seller as a person, and used or freshly rebuilt engines that some people sell are actually ok price-wise. I knew the car was going to require work, but shit piled up real fast and I haven't even driven 1000km yet as the turbo started oiling like a bitch within a few weeks after I got the car.   I assume it wasn't actually me who cracked it, though there is no way to know when that crack formed and if the previous owner even knew it was there. Buying another 05U Block can be a gamble, yeah, but the cheapest PRP cast block is like twice or more money-wise, and billet is 3 or 3 times as much. For now I am most likely just keeping the current engine, as a rebuild or engine swap isn't happening right now. But I am seriously considering buying a second engine and selling mine in return. Might be a sweet deal at the end.
    • Hi all. I need some help buying the correct size banjo bolts for my 2860 turbos. Because whoever installed them tore up the original part, I ordered new ones of this kind, because I just figured these were the most leak-resistant option as I already had trouble with a shitty braided line. I need to know the thread size of the smaller left hole, that is the turbo oil feed connection. I found out so far that the turbo oil inlet apparently has a 7/16"-24 thread, but I cannot find any listing or description of the thread size on this line. I do not have the original bolts. I tried using the bolts that were in the turbos (the ones that were mounted with the shitty braided line) but they sit very loosely so they can't be the right thread. Means either these bolts are the wrong ones (how do they fit the turbo then? no clue) or the wraparound-lines have a different thread than the turbo oil feed itself. Help is appreciated, asking Nissan directly is obviously not going to work.
