In the boot Nizmokid, just behind the partition between the boot and battery compartment.

My cars at the panel beaters right now and I cant for the life of me remember exactly where its bolted onto. From memory, I think its on the back part of the panel that surrounds the suspension rig (shockers and springs).

Strut braces obviously stiffen the car. This is a good thing if you have the suspension to match...if not then sometimes the flex can actually work to your advantage rather than to your detriment. Skylines are also quite stiff in stock form when compared with a commodore or a falcon for example, especially in the rear sections. I would suggest that your money may be better spent than a rear strut brace.....

If however you have too much money and are stuck with what to do with it....different story....rear strut brace does look good when the boot is open.

Cheers

Russ

Hi Guys, front strut brace on a Skyline = definitely worth the money. Stiffens up the upper/inner mounting points for the front upper control arms, so actually does something.

Rear strut brace on a Skyline = not really worth the money. The upper/inner mounting points for the upper control arm, don't mount to the body, they mount to the sub frame. So achieves almost nothing.

Hope that adds to the knowledge base.

There is two studs on the bask side of the suspension towers. It should slide straight on. GTRs and Type M's come with these standard don't they??? I picked up a Cusco OS type one second hand a little while ago. It does stiffen the body a bit. I noticed that when getting a bit of drift it seemed to be a little easier to hold, I think cos of the extra chassis stiffness?? And now when taking the angle over kerbs into driveways it will pickup the inside rear wheel. Besides it looks tuff when you open the boot!

If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
