Yep, I had a ball... after snapping a wheel stud on my FIRST LAP! :)

After that drama I managed to fit 23 laps into the afternoon and got a best time of 1:15.9!

Big ups for Steve and Adam for organising the day. It was a shame about the hiccups regarding water and power and keys etc, but it was a great weekend all the same! Nice to meet some faces I haven't met before too!

Cheers!

Where your photos at Corrinne?

Lol.. whats email do you want me to send them to.. i have a few movies clips as well.. i will be uploading them later.. and i will post up links

Haha stan i have photos of your lil pet in there :)

you poor thing! But a top effort cutting a 1.15 with very little practice you had on that track! Well done!

Well done to Dave and Ando 1.13 and 1.14 respectively... you legends!!!!

What a fantastic weekend! Well done to Adam and Steve for organising! :)

satanic @ optusnet.com.au - Thanks D_I_F

Also thanks to all the non-competitors for making the effort to come out and cheer the SAU boys and girls on!!! Great to see so many people by the wall each time we flew past!

I had an awesome time too!

Now I need a set of semis and more practice to cut my time down! What sort of time should I look at running on street tyres and stock boost/turbo. I managed a 1:18.2, kinda hoped for better. One of the guys from Renew suggested I should have been trying for a low 16 maybe even 15.

more than a few seconds!!! :) i didn't see you drive, but i'm guessing confidence is the only thing holding you back! just mow those pesky boys down! :)

man I just check the time sheet again.. there are way too many good times to mention!!!!

Adam, Shaun and George.. nice work!

James (lingeringsoul) did a 1.19 .. first time on the track!

and Paul!!! Good times as always and thank you so much or your help!!!! Hopefully next time I'm out there I can knock another second or two off.... was very frustrating sitting on 1.19 and 1.20 for the majority of the day!

Lol.. for sure.. want to work of my braking skillz abit more.. lol..

I want to be up there with the boys :) i absolutely loved it and i think more girls should get into it :)

For those not 110% sure about the worth of semi slicks, in Shauns car, we were sliding all over the place, how he got that time with those tyres and suspension, i will never know. Paul on the other hand, cracked the 10's, and its clear why - the grip his car has is nothing short of astonishing!

Also the willingness to break their cars MAY have had something to do with it :)

Shaun spent about 2.5 hours replacing a wrecked hose that limited boost to only 7psi (down from 15), and Paul discovered he had broken one of his brake rotors clean in two!

Well done guys - fantastic times, cant wait for the next one!!!

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG is has not responded to my emails so far after purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
