Fujitsubo Legalis R sounds good, bit quite but thats good.

Has an annoying popping on idle though.

On another note, this has been covered in my previous post

Alex,

i've seen the link before . The clips doesnt work though. When i pressed the play button nothing happens.so... Will love to hear the different notes.

Im a bitsnpieces 'ebay' sort of bloke:

* Just Jap stainless steel 3inch dump pipe from turbo to cat

* BosImporting 3inch mild steel cat converter from Batmbl here on SAU

* no-name 3inch mild steel cat-back R33 system with cut & weld to make it around 4inches longer, no resonator, 1 muffler rather big at back of car next to the weld, nice and quiet, but yet freeflowing (would be very free flowing, but loud I fear, with a canon muffler of some type)

who needs brand names???? :ermm:

They all work for me, but they are all RB25's.

If i could have my pick of that bunch again, in a manual car and without the worry of cops sticking something up my ass, I would buy the "hiper2" exhaust or "nismo2" or HKS super dragger. Probably hiper2

Yeah I have the same exhaust as Alex... I have the resonater removed, lil more note. But still quiet as. I think Im going to change the rear cannon... start making some more noise  Just a question guys... Do the magicat dump pipes make any more noise? Or can it not be heard?

where did you pick up the fujitsubo system? whod you get it through? ive heard of the name, but not seen it anywhere.

Whats a decent price for a dump pipe, high flow cat, split pipe at the rear feeding to a 2inch cannon either side? (rear bar im getting has twin outlets) and the piping plus labour? 3 inch til the diff, then split to 2inch.

any recommended shops in brissie for this?

Well i think im an expert by now after getting the Hyper rev mag.

What type is your stages? The Rb25s? If so go for 3" all the way including the dump pipe with seperate wastegate. As for prices it varies like heavan and earth. Dpends wheter you are brand consious or not.

f*kitsubo is like a mercs in its class very good and high quality. Although theres few other brand that you can get such as Tanabe, Trust (good price personally), Kakimoto, Dolphin (Rolls royce class) HKS(good price), Fujitsubo. Just depends are you brand concious or not like Tangles sais. No offence Tangles

i reckon tangles is onto a good thing, if it works.

not all that brand conscious. as long as it flows well and doesnt sound like a massey ferguson, i dont mind pealing made in taiwan stickers off it.

ok maybe thats an overstatement, but the point is it doesnt have to be apexi, trust, blitz or whatever. as long as it aint autotechnica. good ole autobarn.

ps explain - dump pipe with seperate wastegate? eh?

if thats the case get everything from just jap excepet for the cat back if you dont want to sound like a massey :woot: . Get the muffle a magnaflow or something recomended by Alex or bosimports.

Personally i think bos imports stuff is better than just jap though

ok alex, next time you scout this page, recommend something! i need everything from the turbo back to the diff, where it splits in two. should i keep it 3in even after the split?

haha my XF falcon has a magnaflow... brilliant.

bosimports has a site?

www.bosimports.com.au i think

Got a HKS dump pipe $280, RS-R stainless front pipe $120..both bought in Japan, hence the price, magic cat, and a Fujitsubo Legalis R catback, $1050 from BT-Revolution in melbourne. Not much louder than standard.

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
