Ah.... I see, completely useless on the street then?

Sounds rather unsafe for street use too... what if you accidently push it in and need to use the hand brake?

hey mate

alot of peeple have them in there car for street dont know why but they are primarily to drift

and s13 s14 s15 ae86 r32 r33 rr34 all have the same button on the handbrake so they will fit over any of them and heres installation instructions for anyone interested

thanks

All you need is a flathead screwdriver, it should only take a minute to install.

1 Remove handbrake cover, (slide/twist it forward)

2 Using a flathead screwdriver flip the tabs on each side of the handbrake out in order to drop the spring (the standard handbrake button will sink in and stay)

3 Slide the handbrake cover back on

4 Push the drift button onto the standard one

When the drift button is pushed in it will leave the handbrake unactivated even when pulled up, when the drift button is pulled out the handbrake will lock when pulled up.

they don't fit just any car! i have bought one in the past to suit an s13 and it didn't fit my 32, i later found out that s13 ones r different to r32's!

  • 2 weeks later...

I am trying to get the handbrake cover off and it won't budge.

Does anyone know if there is a trick to them? There is a ring at the end that I started to pull out, but it sounds like it's attached to the spring.

It's a leather cover, but I think all the 32's are...

Anything 90's Japanese is not a great experience these days and highly over rated. My 2015 Brz with a heap of suspension mods is such a better car even with out the power of my old s chassis' even on track. • I mean, the 240i is not a Supra... make it drop a few hundred kg, have a sportscar chassis, clearance for wheels etc... Maybe I want a hardtop Z40i XDrive or something :p I do agree with you though and have long said the B58 Supra/240i/340i/440i is the new R Chassis/JDM90's turbo rocket for mod lovers to ... not always appreciative response lol. Doesn't make it not true though.
    • I will do the build myself but I will be paying for the tune because I don't know how much about that and would rather it be done right and by a professional
    • Will you build and tune it yourself or do you need to pay for labour?
    • Mechanically that's essentially what the M240i is, it's just not pretending it's not a BMW
