I have recently bought some paint to paint the front bumper as it was badly scrathed and chiped, being a white car I just bought nissan white paint and it matched fine.

The problem is at work a friend owns a skyline which is a dark Gun Metal grey colour and we cant find the Paint Colour code in the engine bay?

Does anyone know where you can find the colour code for the paint in skylines? It must be somewhere , otherwise how do panel beaters match up the excact colour.

I know that in Australian model cars , the colour code is always printed, but these japanses imports i don't have a clue.

It's usually on the manufacturers plate under the hood. Should be represented by three charachters, being two numbers and a letter.

An example of whats usually found on the same plate would be -

.................Nissan Motor Co LTD Japan

............................E-HCR43

Chassis No: HCR32-016693

Model: RCR32GASM AA

Colour code: KG1 G 130

Engine: RB20DET 1998 cc

Transmission / Axle : RE4R01A RC43

Few examples -

AN0 - Burgandy

KH2 - Gunmetal

Hope this helps ;)

... But we are in reference to Skylines here Dlude as the topic and forum name suggests ;)

BN6 is the Blue color code for the R33 Skyline, I think however the electric/bayside blue (caymen) color for the R34 Skyline is TV2.

Some other colors for the R34 include -

KV2 - Silver

WV2 - Pewtar

GV1 - Black

QM1 - White

QX1 - Pearl White (3 layered pearl)

EV1 - Yellow

AR2 - Red

LC2 - Midnight Purple 11 (only 300 or so made)

Hi there ppl..

I'm relatively a new member of this great online forum.

I'm looking to buy a S2 R33 96 model upwards hopefully within the next few weeks.. and I've been looking for quite a while now. I have seen a few cars being sold privately and both of them had been blatently clocked back... one car I saw had a re-spray and I couldnt work out what was the exact paint code on it.

Could anyone please let me know what are the R33 paint codes to look out for on the blue plates.

Any other advice in purchasing a skyline would be greatly apreciated.. as I'm trying to get as much stock as possible and would most probally go through a dealer.

Cheers

Taj

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
