If you launch it by yourself at the lights they cant technically get you for anything

Unfortunately they can.

Off memory it's called "Inappropriate increase of speed" or something.

Basically; if you gun it at the lights to the speed limit, it's an "inappropriate increase of speed". It carries demerit points and a fine off memory.

Also on the note of undercovers, my friend was going home and a guy was tail-gating him, and with no-where to pull over, he slowed down a bit (hoping they would over-take him).

They didn't, and pushed more, so he sped up, and they did too, it was a 70km/h zone and he went to 86km/h and got pinned for 15km/h over the speed limit.

I realise and know he shouldn't of sped up, but after the slowing down thing, he thought it was the only way to get them off his back.

nice post doodz.

i been told that you cant swear at police officers, but if they havent yet

announced their cops or shown a badge, can i yell abuse at them and not be charged?

in regards to an undercover cop egging me on at the lights.

Offensive language is offensive language. It doesn;t matter whether they are cops or not.

whoa that opened my eyes.

in my area ive seen cops waiting behind big bushes n trees, and once i saw them waiting at the bottom of a steep hill hiding right next to a big wooden power line pole with the speed camera waiting for people to speed as they came down. and in regards to the p-plate thing, i guess they can do anything they want to catch people, i mean if youre speeding then youre speeding.

and thats a good vid br3tt at first i thought itd b way too blurry

I remember watching a video someone took

It's on youtube..

Just found it:

The video features a different one.. the one i saw was a Commodore S pack (V6) from memory..

It seems that police wearing p plates are more than a once off thing.

I have also seen a white undercover XR 6 or 8(cant remember now) with those silly flower stickers on the back window around the Surry Hills area a few months back. I see people pulled over on Chalmers st in Surry hills just before central station quite often. Its a 50 zone, well patrolled and speed-trapped keep that in mind when driving through.

i'm not complaining about baiting.

the point is to get drivers who will race, off the road and teach them a lesson.

if you get caught it proves that you will race any random joe blow, which then automatically makes you a threat to the public.

after, it's your choice if you race, whether it be police, or just another falcodore drive.

I think it is a very grey area and a slippery slope as well.

Why don't they use the same logic elsewhere? because they'd get their leashes pulled up by their

masters. By your standards it would be quite ok for them

to leave money on the ground then hide in the bushes and arrest anyone who picked it up and

did not hand it in .. or how about if they attend raves and sell drugs at a low price and then arrest

anyone who buys ..

there are a lot of factors in and around choosing to bend a road rule. To avoid a truck throwing up

rocks, because you're concerned about car jacking, because you just want to put safe distance

between you and someone who looks to be acting dangerously. At some point this stuff stops

being law enforcement and starts adding to the problem. A lazy way out for the cops - not happy

with actual hard policing they're spending our money to on cheap stunts that require them to

break their own rules (and set a bad example) in order to get a result.

Cops do whatever they want haven't we learnt this by now!!!!!

Not Exactly!

If Police try to get a conviction through deceitful means, they may attempt to act on the basis of 'the ends justify the means'

But then, driving around with 'P' plates to nab drivers, in the USA (for example) a defense attorney may use an 'Entrapment' clause to get you off.

Here in Australia and also New Zealand/Canada, we have a similar clause under the Westminster system; but it's seldom used.

The clause is called 'Agent Provocateur' (French for 'inciting agent') and if your defence attorney tries it (depending on your charge), there's a fair chance that you'll succeed.

Errrr, nice try but no.

The use of an "agent provoceteur" in NSW can only be used in sentencing guidelines and does not affect the prosecution unbless the prosecution is gained through an illegal act (it mainly relates to drug convictions and is irrelevent to traffic matters and they are generally strict liabilty offences).

Wearing P plates in nsw is not illegal for a full licence holder

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
