Gday Guys,

R32 4 Door GTST

I have got some adjustable castor rods on the way. I plan to install them this weekend.

1) Do I just get as much Castor as I can out of them?

2) Is there such a thing as too much? How much is too much?

3) Stock, my car has 5 degrees left and 6 degrees right, what sort of numbers should I be aiming for?

4) Should I just make them the length of the standard ones, then get the shop that does the alignment handle it?

The setup is for drifting (but also street driven) I've got my HSD Coilovers in, this weekend I am doing Castor and HICAS removal (SK... I am gonna do a tutorial with photos on it so you don't have to keep telling newbies like me how to do it)

Cheers

Chris

1) Do I just get as much Castor as I can out of them? Best not to.

2) Is there such a thing as too much? Yes.

3) Stock, my car has 5 degrees left and 6 degrees right, what sort of numbers should I be aiming for?

What kind of car is it?

4) Should I just make them the length of the standard ones, then get the shop that does the alignment handle it?

That will work.

Have a search under stuffed front bushes (one of my posts) to see the downside of too much caster...

First post updated to include car (r32 gtst 4 door)

Reading DJR81's post makes me wonder if I can get much more castor out of mine. Then again, SydneyKid did recomend more castor when I told him those same settings ~6 months ago...So maybe I haven't wasted my money.

aim for around 8deg positive castor, you can usually get a bit more than this but you run the risk of damaging the control arm bushes

To answer your question, you aim on getting as much castor as you can "safely", which is usually around 7-8 deg positive.
