Hey guys i have $500 lying around and was looking for something to add to my car (gtr32). Ive basically come up with some stuff that i could do:

A) Fit my gauge (oil pressure and exhaust temp) senders that are sitting in my car doing nothing atm, gearbox oil, diff oil and the oil for the mini clutch thing in gtr's to engage 4wd.

B) Save up for PFC + tune.

C) Save up for 2 GT 2560-5 (yea i know ill have quite a bit to save but my current stock turbo's compressor wheels are rather worn, leading to long spooling time, so i will have to change em sooner or later : )

D) Buy front and rear strut braces and maybe some sway bars if budget allows?

E) Replace my current pod filters which are dirty as, and maybe get a box?

F) Any other suggestions? (Inclined towards performance and/or reliability of car  )

My car is basically stock except for cat-back, said dirty pod filters, and bleed valve. Any suggestions appreciated :) Cheers

Well that is one of the theories that my mechanic and i have come up with. Heh coz my turbos are taking exceptionally long to spool up to full boost (5k rpm, stock turbos) and we think that the wheels might be cracked or some parts chipped off.. We cant seem to find anything else that might be causing the problem.. Even if its not the compressor wheel its probably some other turbo problem.

Btw i just posted this because money is rather hard to come by for me so i just wanted some opinions :)

If your turbo's are knackered, might want to sort that before anything else. A second hand pair of good condition R32 turbo's shouldn't cost more than $500 (mate sold his not long ago for $200 each)

Once that's sorted, grab a cheap turbotech manual boost controller from Mark (thread on SAU) for $35 and run stock or a little more boost. The controller is great, and will eliminate a lot of lag that the stock system can introduce.

Spend the rest on a service and "tuneup" as such. Injector cleaning, clean pod filter, better engine oil etc.

$400 - turbos

$35 - controller

$65 - bet on the horses, then win $200 for a full service.

lol at last line haha. The reason i havent really considered a pair of 2nd hand r32 turbos is because i definitely wont be able to swap em myself and since im paying for labour i figured i might as well do it properly and fit some garrett ones in so i wont have to change em again in the near future.. I do have the manual boost controller and it did help the lag a tiny bit (500rpm). Although after reading this i reckon i wouldnt mind a pair of 2nd hand r32 ones so if anyone has a pair plz PM me :) . Ill post in WTB section too..

I reckon if a pair doesnt pop up soon ill just spend on oils and save up for a pair of 2560s heh cheers

    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together

That said, some days you'll just never beat genetics, but 99% of the time dogs chasing cats is purely lack of socialisation, and then the chasing part can turn into prey drive.
