guys and gals, make sure yas watch out if ya ever have to replace a window motor in a r33, i was just doing mine and when i took the motor off it sprung back onto my thumb and nearly chopped it off!!!! arrrrr, i could see tendans and nearly to the bone, just required 6 stiches, just a word of warning to anyone that ever goes to change a window motor!!

Cam. :(

(watch that spring)

Hahah thanks for including chicks in that statement but we are smart enough to get some other poor unsuspecting person to do it for us haha but if a mechanic ever does a bad job and i need inflict an injury i'll keep it in mind! :(

P.S: Hope ya finger gets better :O

bwahhaah thats classic, im glad someone out there also hurts themsleves when working on the car. I thought i was the only one.

Had a small injury today where i wanted to test if the ciggie lighter was working properly, needless to say my finger has a nice sized blister on it now. :P

Bwhaha i saw my dad shove a screwdriver into his brain via a nostril once. Wasnt so funny at the time with the amount of blood and all but dam i had a good laugh after the catscan was done adn nothing was wrong. I think i get my accident pronness off him actually.

Did you buy that motor from Dr_Drift?

I was there when he took it off the window assembly, and boy did it fling out. Lucky for him, he used his foot to hold down the rails while he unscrewed the motor. Once that last screw was out all hell broke loose.

Sorry for not thinking of putting up a thread, i know for next time.

aw11, I did sorta the same thing ... cept my mother stole the power cable to the computer, so instead of doing the smart thing and realising that the kettle used the same cord type, I used three coasthangers which I bent out (I was only like 12, gimme a break) ...

Well, you guessed it it was all working fine until I decided my hand belonged next to me instead of on the desk, course the computer was also next to me with streaming 240 volts care of the coathangers ....

Hand went down, thankfully safety switch caught it, however hand went up straight into a running fan ... felt the electricity go down my arm and to my chest, arm and hand was numb for a good 5 mins or so, only after did I reliase how much damage the fan did to my fingers :P

hehhehe, im not used to typing with one hand, i can sort of use my right hand, but its a bit difficult, as its bandaged up.

Al: yeah it was the motor that i got off Dr_Drift, dont matter ill be rite, just temporary loss of use of my right hand, hahaha :(

Macka: if ya dont have to unscrew the 3 screws that are on the motor you'll be rite as it only springs back when u take those screws out

rs73: did you want a pic of the actual motor? i can take one and PM it to you if u want.

Boostzor: its the first bad injury ive had while working on the car, hehe, but im sure there are plenty more to come.....:)

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
