Aren't you working today Shane?

no my man im on hollidays this week ;)

Ummm bank account bare.... AGAIN...

That brings my car to a grand total of close to 48grand now...

Yeah, keep adding it up. Cause that helps make me feel better... :P

well ur 22g's off "the record"

and i bet urs goes harder

Cross drilled and ventilated rotors Front & Rear

New brake Pads

Dot 5 fluid

555cc Injectors

Speed flow fittings galore and braided lines galore

Exedy hyper single plate clutch (sold the twin plate)

Rear main seal

HID headlamp conversion kit

Oil cooler

Oil filter reloactor kit

thats about it... Actually it was closer to $4,370

that clutch gonna hold ur power col, or should i say torque? :D

mmmmmmmm speedflow fittings and braided lines mmmmm :P

well i might go clean my cars interior.... and maybe clean the garage and mow lawn.

geez the things i do for my parents

Yeah and all those scabs do is pay the mortgage on the house you live in and pay for your car to be fixed when it gets keyed...damn them

ha ha ha

and he prolly doesn't even pay rent!

and that was a big MAYBE, so you'll prolly not do it!

Shane you lucky SOB!!! i want a week off!!! not that i do much at work!

ha ha ha

so how long before i see your beast!!

HA HA HA!!!

(some ones gonna have to jump on that!)

btw nice turbo... what is it? GT35R?

GT30 with a 0.82 rear end... 0.7 comp cover...

Yes is a real Garrett not a copy... ($2000 turbo)

Yes, yes it does go hard now, but im aiming for 300rwkw with about 600-650nm of torque...

The clutch i have ordered will hold up to about 400rwkw... Its a bit bitey but i got to test drive a 280rwkw r34 GT-T this morning with this clutch in it and i was very impressed with its performance. It about 30-40% heavier than standard but hold 3 times the torque of standard clutch.

Its an awsome setup. The twin plate was too noisy for my liking, at idle at the lights it sounded like i had rocks in my exhaust. Made the car sound like a bucket... Plus it was not exactlly perfect for my application due to the track work that the car will be seeing in the near future...

Ive given up trying to get a 11 second pass at 242rwkw... The best i got to was 12.4 and could not go any harder...

So at 300rwkw i should be a shoe in for a high 11 second pass on street tryes...

Then ill shoot for a mid/low 11 with semi slicks or drag slicks...

ha ha ha

lol...well if we can get the adapter plate on and the sump modded and on, then engine in this week, it'll go off to the exhuast shop next week n then to get tuned! so maybe 2 weeks

col, it's gonna be one hell of a skyline, i like it how uve done it in stages, not just in one hit, and it seems u've covered all the basis

next step will be to get the head modified and then the oiling modified to cope with ur track work?

ANSWER: Depends on whether they're telling you to put them near a source of heat... But yeah most shops should have a basic understanding of what will and won't tolerate heat

Nah, I meant the shop has chosen that particular hose for the spot, and it's not tolerated heat at all, and melted... should they have known that the material they chose for that application wasn't going to handle the heat in that particular spot in the engine bay? Like, wouldn't you use something to tolerate higher temperatures near the turbo?

I have an oil cooler on the way ATM...

My head is stock and all i was gonna do in the future was to put bigger valve springs in and maby a set of cams...

Which is more than likely a head off application...may aswell get it ported and tidied up whilst its off? and better oil pump and crank collar...

it makes me laugh at how much all these things cost, quite sad hey

If a shop does some work and, because of their work or choice of parts, it fails, it should be up to them to sort it out. In your case, they chose the hose and didn't make any effort to shield it from the heat that would quite obviously come from the exhaust/turbo side of an engine... they should at the very least replace it with something more suitable, and preferably repair any damage caused by the hose melting.

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
