wtf? jealous of being hopeless?

Yeh money'd be good, but not everyone has that option. Again, i'm one of those kids that never got anything, because my parents spent all their time putting me through music lessons to 'better my future'.

I left home, did the whole lived-on-rice-and-beans thing for about 18 months while I was earning $17K a year. Finally left that job and got a better one and started to buy stuff for myself. I own everything in my unit now.

Andrew, on the other hand, is one of those lucky ones. His grandad was one of the first orange farmers in qld, and as a result, a millionaire. He provided houses, shares and education grants for all of his children, grand children and great grand children. Thanks to his grandad, andrew now owns 2 cars, and still has a massive wad of money to buy a house soon, and his children are going to be lucky, and get a very good education.

You see the difference? I don't hate people because they have money. I respect people for different reasons. Some people that have money, you'd never know it, because they don't feel the need to talk about it constantly.

Yeah like me for example. I have money.

Like the other day, I was paying for a tank of fuel at the servo, and saw an iced coffee. Not a small one mind you, a 600ml carton. I looked at it and thought "hell, why not?". I threw that $2.50 on the counter like it was nothing. I could've bought a newspaper too, but didn't want to flaunt my incredible wealth in front of the commoners.

:P oh dear, brothers friends just left rubber all over our street infront of nieghbours :) my brother is going to get owned lol

dude r u sure he's really ur brother and not some kid from 'ipswich', caus u keep tellin us how much of a 'bogan' he is :)

Bah...you flogged that $2.50 from the tardis...it wasn't yours anyway :)

Hey John, I just read your times at Willowbank. Aren't they a little slow for the speed achieved?? I mean, I got a 13.7 @ 100.89MPH. Just wondering if you fluffed the start or got wheel spin??

that's f*kn funny marc, I like it.

And I don't doubt you have hopes Bryn, but if you read back over what you've said this past year, you'll understand why some of us deem you hopeless... it's got nothing to do with ambitions or dreams or knowledge. It's about how you portray yourself.

I am going to study next year, I am very excited. I am going to be poor as f**k, because my parents don't have money to put me through it, so it's all on my shoulders. But you know what? I don't care. I'm stoked to be learning. Cos at the end of it, i'll be earning a hell of a lot more, and be able to do things i've only ever dreamed of.

i was flamin useless and didnt have a clue until i got stuck in and pulled things about, and tried to put them back together...its funny how theres always a few bolts left over at the end though :)

10mins and i'm outta here

woohooooo

i got another hour or so, didnt get in til 10:30, i swear it was the traffic!...down at wynnum :P

Often...there will be others my friend ;)

ooo so who u got ur eye on karen?

No way. That was from my stash.

But just to show how considerate I am, I could have bought that newspaper, and a spare iced coffee (yes, a spare... I can afford to indulge) AND turned up in the Cressida, but didn't want to offend the yokels. That would have been over FIVE BUCKS, in ONE HIT.

Anyway that'll do for now, everyone is no doubt in awe of my wealth. Time to jump in the car and pick up Karen. And who knows, I might just get that newspaper...

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
