yeah but when u harden something, it becomes more brittle.

it all depends on the process used. this isn't hardening the metal, its a similar process to forging in where the metal is essentially compressed to form a tighter molecular structure.

mike any word on the investigations? :woot:

no, they still looking towards me  but i gotta send off a few more forms to them. it wont be sorted out till february i think  i want a new car though! and i've already started planning it. its very frustrating

yes...do you know if hes busy this week? wouldn't mind it back but haven't heard from him.

I said stole. You're not getting it back hehehe.

I'll probably talk to him later today. I'll get him to call you.

try cash converters isaac, you'll usually find most stolen things there. mainly because my friend works there and steals it all and sells it to himself

no worries, he can just send me a pm later tonight, tell him i can pick it up this weekend.

if you ever need to sell anything, that is worth nothing, go to cash converters at capalaba and talk to doug. tell him michael sent you and he will work something out. very dodgy

they're called helical cut marc, becuase they actually curve round. you can also have a dog box with helical cut gears as well, just not as strong.

True most road cars run helical cut gears (quieter), silly thing is I was picturing helicals and still wrote angle cut lol. You can actually get angle cut gears too, though afaik they're still as noisy as straight cuts but not as strong so aren't used as often.

I know you can get a dog box without straight cuts (and vice versa), the point of my post was that they are two separate parts of the box

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
