Hmm might be interesting, I'd be keen to see it if/when it's set up.

I've long wondered about how they'd go with a Vortech-style blower on the side though - simple exhaust, no lag and can be set to make good boost from very low rpm :D

stockymcstock from down south has a twin charge system on his skyline :D

For your mate, $30k. It is regarded as the best looking IS in OZ. And is maintained to that high standard.

Fark that sexy but no i cant help you out he was looking more in the 20K market lol.... but if i show him he will still be drooling.... cant hurt right :D

Ahahah lee you are one sneaky bastard, i love it! i need some housbricks to steal the rims of the landcruiser across the road :D

but seriously that would still cost a bit to buy rims, then special tyres to clear the defect.

Maybe i could seal the boot and pump the car full of helium :D

lol dude you hav another option....

depanding on how much you have to raise it... get your self a set of old rims and put high profile tyres on them this will raise the car.....

eg... 225/45/r17 was 11cm swaped rims and tyres 205/65/r15 ride height changed to 16cm, just do this to clear the defect then put the old rims back on.....

not special tyres it think its like 500 for a set with steel wheels and retreads...

but i'd go get the stocko's from shanes place, i'm sure you and John could work something out... like say you take them and he can go get stuffed :(

isaac, i have john's old stock suspension at my place u can use to get by. let me know when u can get out my way and ill whack them in for you :(

thanks for the offer shane. Could solve my problems, but heres the problem. I fly back home on a monday - 19th, must present car for inspection to cops by 23rd- that friday. Can you do it on a weeknight? (assuming you have one of those cushy 9-5 jobs :D wish i had one :D ) I could obviously bring the car to you.... guess it wouldn't take long to install stock suspension?

okay cool :) i'll let you know. Got quoted $2200 for tein super streets so really wanted a cheaper option lol. The locknut is busted on the coilovers on the right rear but as the adjusting nut is siezed i dont think its ajusting anywhere atm :D ... i hope :D guess if that goes when i'm doing 110kph on the motorway i'll have some brown trowsers lol

its 10cm unless things have changed. My car passed inspection at queensland transport at the height it was, yet i got defected by the police a year later go figure? The only point of my car that is lower than 10cm is the rear part of the exhaust, its 8cm off the ground.. the bodkit etc is 13cm at its lowest point (i know cos i measured it aaaages ago).

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
