What's the plan for oil and water lines? gonna get the makita out and tap that shit yourself? Going stock lines or braided?

Was reading over Dans thread and he used the heater hoses and oil was from one of the lines from the oil filter relocation kit.

Ahh I see. The toit method, like it. How do n/a injectors compare to turbo ones? Do you need the turbo ecu too?

Toit?

Will need turbo injectors and better fuel pump. Wanted to get the bulkier, harder to find peices first.

Ecu- nistune. :)

Sorry. Slang for tightass among my mates haha.

Yeah fair enough. I reckon all those odds and ends are going to end up costing just as much as a whole new engine :s people want silly money for r34 turbos in particular. Did you see the hiflowed 34 turbo in the four sale section? Only 600. Pretty good considering a stock one will probably cost 300

Hey all. First post this weekend I think. Did so much to Kathryn's ute

Spent 6 hours trying to get one side of the upper control arm out.

Put it back together do the other side should only take about 2 to do now I know how to do it and have the right tool

Then the ball joints. Swap the pian arm for the right one tomorrow

And gearbox back in tomorrow after a rebuild

Hahah verrrry verrrrrrrrry productive weekend and verry tiring

Makes sense.

I've worked out that this should all cost about $1500 (as a rough estimate). The majority of parts purchased can be bolted on to the DET block if we go down that path in the future. Saw the high flow and was very interested... We are also doing this on strict numbers as it really is Chants project.

Planning to do this more as a staged project. It does mean that you get a few extra parts along the way but means that it's drive able more often.

Part 1 - factory turbo RB25DE+T

Gather most of the main parts and get her going

Part 2 - 30 bottom end

Past 3 - 25/30DET with 3076.

cool should be good in the end

This is so true!

Though I will say the chosen method seems likely to give you more pains in the ass than normal but Anna and I learned a hell of a lot form our pain in the ass project that could have been done easier.

There's almost always a better way to do things. Taken a look at practicality, cost, ease, cost, cost etc this seems to work.

Are you talking about the 32 gtst?

I actually dont think it will work from an ease point of view and also quite possibly a cost point of view (Have seen whole NEOs go for 1100 ish) but after you are done you will know a whole lot more about the car which is good.

Nah not so much the R32, it was a series of unfortunate events and shit workshops. The Sil80 was the one where we spent endless time screwing around trying to get factory bits to work ect ect. Not lots of money, just countless hours finding parts lol

Well I've been stuck with trying to figure out this GameCube emulator.....nothing is easy when it comes to me and computers. I'm not a god damn IT specialist!!! GRrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

I hate computers with a passion~

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
