As the title says, just out of couriosity.......

I got mine because I had a custom number plate 'DELUXE" on my car a few years back. It was a 1990 VQ Statesman 5.0ltr, and being one of the top of the range in it's model I came up with deluxe. some of my mates still call me Deluxe, so i guess it's stuck!

I have absolutely no idea why i came up with mine.

It was about 6 years ago and I was probably really proud of myself for thinking it up, and now its too late to change it because Iv'e used it on everything.

I would never get them as my license plate though.

i liked mazda's rx8 i was gunna make a mazda_rx8@hotmail but couldnt so i changed up the letters madaz which also means mad as :D if i had a dollar for everytime sum1 told me i spelt mazda wrong i would be very rich...

ive used variants of

madaz_rx8

madaz_

and

madaz_r33

I think I needed a username for some site registration years ago. I'm a graphic designer so GFXman was something that came to mind.

other nicknames derived from my real name include joolz, jug, jugs, boobs etc :D

My first two cars were written off, hense writeoff.

I'd like to put it on plates but its 8 digits ($$$$) and riteoff just doesn't look right. Also could become prophetic which I'd like to avoid.

Vange came from my real name Evangelos, that started bk at school....

Use Evan at work cos its easier to say, and also have several variants of vange...

VANE = my friend was writing VANGE on the desk in art once n missed the G and ended up with VANE

vUnge = a slightly more sexual/deeper way of saying vange.

my bday is called 'the annual vange' which happens once a yr (obviously) and cos we were so cool bk at school, all the girls would wana come n we made it an exclusive 'sleep over' with just mates, we then proceded to do stupid things walking my backstreets and then telling every1 the stories and it would make ppl wana come more n more hahahaha

well back when i was 16yo i was doin a retail course thing

and a couple of my friends started poking me for no reason

so instead of getting called 'Amanda' it'd be 'Pokie' and i didn't

mind it, thought it sounded cool(still think it does) but yeah heaps

of people still poke me :D

oh i think the other reason why people poked me was coz i was

very ticklish, but i'm not anymore :)

Tylthidras - um...came up with as a character name for a medieval type story i was writing for a creative piece in year 8 english.

needed a new email address at the time, used the name. Used it as name's no computer games back when i had time to play em, when i ended up on forums, it became my forum name. :)

I started playing my first online game last October, Day of Defeat, and was first time using WSAD keys in liue of arrow keys - lets just say I used to get very tangled up. Sgt.Tangles was my name, got a few laughs, then I was asked to join a clan, so it changed to goon>>Tangles. Now I have a go on BF2 a little and call myself MajorTangles.

Plus Im hung like max walker :) "its like a babys arm holding an apple" from The 12th Man fame, and his nickname for Australia was Tangles, so it just seems normal to me. Could be Tripod I guess, LOL, but Tangles it is. LOL

I did my Primary schooling in the UK, so when i came back to Aus and started High school I had a pommy accent, and of course copped grief for it.

Then one of the kids decided to say my name (Ashley) in as posh a voice as he could muster, it sort of came out as "Ooooshley", pretty quickly it was shorten to Oosh.

But instead of taking it as a tease, I actually kinda liked it, so adopted it as my nickname. After that I was always Oosh at high school, along with a few variations, Zoosh, Spoosh, Stoosh, etc.

It got continued at Uni, because one of my mates there was an Ash too, so i maintained Oosh to avoid confusion. I rarely even answered to Ash there.

Well back in year 7 on the first day of high school i went up to this girl and said "is your name Kirsty or Kristy?" and she went "Is your name Karl or Kral?" and then i just added "ster" on the end to get "kralster"

It's mostly just used for forums but my gaming tag is "Mr Charisma"

    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
    • While I was waiting for the new parts to come in for the charge pipe and radiator I decided to do some turbo modification. The drive pressure (exhaust backpressure) was a lot higher that I thought it should be. For 32lbs of boost drive was 55lbs. The turbine housing is a 1.10AR and my turbo builder has suggested to go to a 1.25AR. To test if a larger AR would do anything to reduce drive pressure AND not spend any money I decided to hog out the divider in my current housing. I removed it from the inlet and the whole way through the housing.  After reassembly and testing it doesn't look like this modification did anything for reducing drive pressure or requiring more fuel (making more power). Oh well, it was worth a shot. We'll get some data at the track if it makes it past the 60ft. I also machined a $7 shift knob off Amazon to fit my Stillway shifter since I didn't like the Stillway shift knob. Next on the list was the radiator replacement and fabrication of a new intercooler tube that had no silicon coupler. No pictures of this - I was short on time each night after work to get this done and didn't stop to take pictures.  Next was to get the clutch disks out and replaced. Previously when installing the dogbox I had ordered a set of the same sintered iron disks I had been running because I switched to the 26-spline input shaft. I thought it was odd that they didn't have any markings or brand name on them like all my old disks had but installed them anyway. At the track I could not get the clutch to lock up using my normal strategies. After two track nights I reached out to the clutch manufacturer and ask their thoughts. They said they had to switch the material out because they were having trouble getting the original material and that this new material would not take to being slipped very well.  So out with the first set of 26-spline disks and in with the correct material 26-spline disks. While I had the trans out I added an inspection/service hole. I've wanted one of these for a while. Now I can have a look at things and change the front cover shimming when needed (clutch wear). I hustled and got the clutch change done in a few hours on a Saturday. Hopped in the car and drove home. On the way home I did a 1-3 pull. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd the core plug in the back of the cylinder head popped out and dumped all the coolant. Thankfully I was only 30 seconds from home and coasted it there. Datalog showed nothing unusual and 2.5psi of coolant pressure. That plug has been in there since 1992 but I guess it worked its way out. Pulled the trans AGAIN and replaced the plug, JB welded it in, and made a brace. Also deleted the head drain I had added in during the bearing issue fiasco.  I am currently changing my boost control plumbing to make it cleaner. After that is done I'll make another attempt at getting past the 60.
