If anyone has details on a little white hatch... (dihatsu, hyundai or something)

with the registration 070 FSW please pm me with details.

its driven by an old senile man who opened his door into my passenger door over in Toowong post office carpark 15minutes ago.

when confronted he denied it, and claimed that he should not be subjected to this kind of terrorism.

then claimed that i had a particularly expensive looking car and that it was not his concern.

then quickly drove off.

tried to follow but got stuck in traffic

:P:P:O

Sorry to hear that...it absolutely sh!ts me off...just because they choose to drive sh!tboxes

Will keep an eye out anyway Eug

Someone did something similar to me, but they instead decided to reverse a WHOLE car length into my custom grille and nismo spoiler and then drive off :P

I now have Marc's brother on the "lookout" for that car :P

Forget the brake fluid. Try tile glue with fish/prawns mixed in and you pour it down the grill in front of the windscreen. Acid based cleaners will not get it off!! Only way is to physically scrape/sand it off!!

Other thing to do is file a report with the police. Then it is official and they can act to get some degree of retribution but in a fully legal way.

to be honest the damage is no more than $100, but being a student thats $100 in my pocket.

i know police wont do anything, and insurance will just throw me around in circles.

the fishglue idea sounds good. but ultimately its down to the principal!!!

My damage is $1000 in round figures...took me 3 visits to different cop shops before I could "convince" someone to take a report. Basically they won't take a report if they think it's below $2000 in damage...like they are experts in resprays and fibreglass :P

They didn't want to make the report, it was as plain as day. I had the rego, type of car, colour and I even tracked down the security camera footage showing the incident, and they still didn't want to do it.

2 months down the track I've heard absolutely nothing.

Best of luck Eug with tracking down this old bastard and making him pay.

Even if someone worked in Dept. of Trans. they couldnt give information becuase they would lose their jobs. Privacy Act.

Good luck with finding the bastard. go back to toowong next week at the same time and look for it. then its up to you what you want to do... i know what i would do =)

staff at dept of transport look at ppls details everyday !

good thing for them that if something happens to there car and see the registration number, they can look it up, And no one will know!! :P

But to giving it to anyone else, and anyone finds out where the information came from originally and there gone!!

You can get the persons details by filling in a search request form

all you need is a stat dec which clearly states what happened, and a quote from your repairer.

Costs about 15.85 and the registration and persons details are sent out too you

Im sure you just have to have the registration number, and what type of car they were driving and the date of the incident.

i had a guy do a hit and run on me. rear ended me and drove off on the foot path. i couldnt follow him because i couldnt get over the gutter. i reported it to the police and everything but as soon as they found out i owned a skyline they lost all interest & sympathy. a 3rd party witness came forth who got his number plates so the police knew who he was but despite my constant requests for updates on the situation the guy was never charged for hit and run. my mum even rang up on my behalf and they told her they were to busy to follow the case up and charge him and that i was not as innocent as she thought (despite the fact i was stopped at a red light). So that was a 2 grand excercise for me. I just think its rude that the cop was so concerned until she found out what car i had and then when she decided she didnt want to charge him theres nothing u can do

that really sucks karen... just cant believe how unresponsible other people are for their actions.

and yet when you try and do the right thing you end up being screwed around again!

i was in the car fiddling with my paper work when i saw him open the door and heard a loud "clunk" i was like wtf.. i saw him look at my door and continue to get into his car - so he definately knew he had hit mine.

that said i know even if i get his details and send him a quote to repair it he will just shrug it off... the whole karma issue wont make me feel better either. karma is for wusses.

err you could go into department of transport and 'ask' for the details of this car due to him damaging your car and than driving off and you need them to give to the coppas even tho they are slack f**ks and probly wont do anything how ever they will pull you over and defect you for havin a headlight out that was smashed in the accident that they wont chase up on

    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
