Well its that time of year again for the SAU-NSW Putty Road cruise.

Every year a few ACT people head up, and it is one of the best weekends I think you could have with your Skyline.

What is it? Putty Road is a nice long windy road that runs from Windsor (very outer Sydney) up to Singleton. The cruise usually takes about 2 hours, with a stop over in the middle (the best sausage rolls in existance!!). There is plenty of BP Ultimate and Shell Optimax availible near Windsor and there is Shell Optimax availible in Singleton.

The usual plan? We head up on Friday afternoon, stay at the Windsor terrace motel (www.windsorterracemotel.com) which is about 2 minutes away from the meeting point for the cruise. Friday night involves going to the local pizza place and relaxing with good food and drink. Saturday is the cruise which finishes just after lunch (we all have lunch at the pub in Singleton) and then you can either head back to Canberra or stay in Sydney Saturday night.

So, when is it? Saturday the 15th July.

The price? SAU-NSW club members free, non members are $5. This is an official CAMS sanctioned event and as such the charge for non members is to cover the public liability insurance.

This is usually one of SAU's biggest events of the year, and once you have been you will keep going back every year. It will also be a chance for you all to meet the mysterious Shell as she usually goes :P

Hopefully some of you can make it up, you wont regret it. The only extra thing I will add is no dickheads. If youre going to bring a dickhead attitude, a tendancy to do burnouts or skids or drive like a wanker, stay at home because we dont want you there.

Damn................25th Canberra, 15th Windsor, 29th Sheparton..........methinks it is all happening.

I've sort of said I'll go to the Canberra thing, but I may have to do use the scientific approach........eeny, meeny, miney, moe..........I'll have to let you know.

PS I can only get out of jail for one!!!

I believe that should be fine, you will have to pay the $5 though unless you are a SAU-NSW member.

race_snooze, the windsor motel is $99 for the night on Friday, then you can stay in Sydney saturday night if you want or go back to Canberra (it finishes around 1:30PM and its a 5ish hour drive back to Canberra from Singleton).

Dont know if I can get the Friday off work, if I cant ill be leaving straight after work at 4:30PM.

Well there you go. If that's not a good enough reason to come i don't know what is :)

Just need to add something here.... this is an official SAU-NSW club event, and it looks like we're going to make it SAU-NSW club members and invited guests only this year.

It's still being discussed in the members area on the forum.. but looks like that's the way it's gonna be.

that said, there is NO problem with any of you coming who are not members, as i'm happy to make you my invited guests if I'm the only member going from here (or you might know a member in sydney yourself), but i just wanted to make you aware of this fact.

we just need to cover our arses with our CAMS insurance and not have randoms turning up ruining for everyone..

Anyway, hope some of you can make it, it's a great road - until you get stuck behind a sunday grandpa but they usually get intimidated with 30 or so lines up their arse that they pull over and let us through lol... last year there was me, my friend Bridget, Nik, Mark, Ewen and Cassie, but hope to see a few more of you this year!

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
