brett, what pods were you looking at getting?

ive got a K&N and that passed no worries. just make sure its fixed down with a bracket of somesort. ring up welshpool pits

(centre for permits) and ask them im thinking of putting a pod filter on my car whats the requirements to make it road-legal

unfortunately personal experience can only say that K&Ns are legal but im sure most others are

Brett,

As I said, they are not technically legal, but it's a pod filer, most of the guys at the pit's couldn't give a rat's ass who made it. I wouldn't bother swapping filters unless you were sure to get knocked back, but I have so many other illegal things I don't want to get a permit for one thing incase they notice all the other illegal things.

See'ya:burnout:

I will be needing to upgrade my airbox as it won't flow enough for the goodies I have got, but I want to have it 'legal' before I shell out the dollars for pods...

K&N's could be a go, I was looking at the Trust AirInx pods though they may not get a permit...

I'll give whelshpool a ring.

Cheers

Brett

make up an airbox to go around it and i dont think you will ever get a canary when the coppers have a look around. oh yeah also make it SHINY they like SHINY things, commonwhore drivers. if you get a female copper make sure you have flashy lights installed around the air box with sale sign, that should work. Okay okay i am feeling sarcastic at the moment so yeah please ..to the few lovely ladies on here...dont skin me for the above comments. Umm and yeah same goes for any cops among us.

I am in the same boat with the other mods that will get a yellow so why bother with the air pod crew. My car is almost touching the top of the rims (not tyres) so I aint going anywhere near welshpool

cant remember the head guys name over there but he was a top bloke when i tried to licence my car with an aftermarket front bar and east perth gave me a run around. starts with an R i think bugga!!

welshpool guys are cool! but i ain't goin throuhg there with my pod. it's soo fricken loud! i dunno bout nay of yours but my induction noise sounds like a vacuum cleaner with a loud speaker lol!

anyways good look brett with the pods and permits

adrian :D

You must have some serious goodies going on then.

The Mines GTR's have over 600HP and they still use the factory airbox (with a mines panel filter inside).

    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 馃槵 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 馃槄

    • Each to their own I guess  Me, I put just as much time into cleaning inside of the cars as I do on the outside As for getting wet, it is really no different than steam cleaning the carpets at home, apart from the cars carpet dries alot faster than the house, again, I only do it in the hotter months and leave the car opened up for a few hours As I only do it yearly, it is just before I do the diff and gearbox service, so I clean the carpets, then it's up on stands, wheels off, service, clean the undercarriage,  grease the bushings and do a nut and bolt check on everything  Disclaimer: I typically had all the time in the world to kill when I was working 馃ぃ, so spending a full day or 2 cleaning, serving and "looking at stuff" was,  easily achievable, and a fun mental therapy day As for time to kill, I retired last Wednesday, so apart from my physical training, my days are filled with lots of random jobs around the house and garden...."Idle hands are the Devils something something" I am also buying a new house sooner rather than later, I'm actually looking at a potential property tomorrow, I'm looking forward to getting a car hoist as I'm starting to get to old to crawl around under a car, I can only imagine all the undercarriage cleaning and looking at stuff when that gets set up
    • Yeah, I'm not interested in wetting the carpets, and I don't care about brown dirt/dust that lives deep in the pile or underneath. It's not like I crawl around on them in my birthday suit or eat dropped food off them (because there is never any open food in my car). The seats are alcantara (cheap Chinese imitation alcantara, to be sure!) with barely 1" of foam pad behind the surface. That's not getting wet either. Any car that I would be happy to get the interior wet, I would not care to put the effort into.
