GTR injectors should be ok, but they are usually overpriced, and you will still need to modify them from low impedance to high impedance. RX7 injectors are usually more cost effective.

so the 13b's are not a direct replacement for the stockies?

BTW. what are the CC's for stockies on a ER34???

Just a point of interest for the 34 injectors, I know SK has tested them to be around the same as 33 injectors, but just for reference sake: from HPI #32 (Project R34 article)

"the std injectors on the RB25DET Neo engine are only 340cc/min... ...Unfortunately Nissan chose to update this engine with the skinny new plastic bosch inectors, so aftermarket options are limited."

600hp is 447kW.

At the crank that's a damn lot.

I would imagine 660-740cc would be better but then your car idles bad.

550cc will be fine for ~450hp crank situations.

btw. where the hell are you getting these prices for the cheap RX7 injectors and rails?

My next choice is the Nismo 555cc and they are pretty much $1,000 delivered.

Any contact for the cheap injectors and rail? Hook a brutha up :P

T.

Where can u get a set of nismo 555cc injectors for $1000 delivered?

wld747, do you want your car to be able to idle properly? If not, go the 850cc injectors.

these links I found pretty handy when considering injector upgrades:

http://www.ap-engineering.co.jp/el/inj_side.htm

they also have a page for top feed injectors, but cant find it at the moment, will post up later

here it is:

thanks steve i didnt realise that with bigger injectors idle becomes stuffed.

Has anyone tried to control bigger injectors with a SAFC??

does it work?

The SAFC doesn't control anything! The ECU does that, the SAFC just bends the input signals to the ECU. So the question should be ................

Has anyone tried to control bigger injectors with the standard ECU?

Yes, and it doesn't work too well, cruise and idle are the problem, as is hot start.

Interesting thread. I have had my finger on this pulse for some time now. Before this old thread was dug up, I found out about Cosmo injectors here.

All the lowdown you guys are seeking !

very interesting facts bigdatto, Thanks :)

Also for a mild and tunable upgrade could you use CA18DET inj. at 370-380cc or RB26DETT inj. at 444cc? thanks

I know the GTR injectors need the resistor pack wired in but what about the CA18det injectors? are they a direct bolt in job?

Hi Guys does anyone know the part number of the 13B and 20B injectors? I have found a set of 550 cc injectors that are side feed supposedly from a "Mazda". The part number is OF555-425 with a batch code of A40-00. The suspicion is based on the colour, they are red'ish brown, not purple as in the Silvia guide above.

The part no. for side feed 13B/20B 550cc is 195500-2460. These are purple top and are found in the 13B-REW (series 6 RX7), not the 13BT (series 5 and below which are top feed). They are also in the 20B Cosmo. I'm told all 6 are 550cc, but only 3 are side feed. I'm trying to confirm that the 20B's have the same part no. as the 13B-REW's.

    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
    • It's TWO steering wheels actually. 😛 one for each hand They are wheels, and they steer!
