We have a whoretown for a reason. We also have a wasteland section on this forum for a reason.

The whoretown thread takes up enough bandwidth without having another threads full of crap. That thread was started to keep all the crap talk in one area. I dont care if you start a "who's from the wide bay area". However, I have issues with you starting up a thread for people just to "chat" in when we already have a thread for that.

Sometimes poeple want to chat to poeple with people in the same area. I can't see why you don't understand that, Maybe you could explain a bit further.

My reasoning for starting the sunny coast post was to meet new people and chat to them. Think about it, if I am chating in the whoretown I am speaking to people all over QLD, from rocky to gold coast. "how about we meet up some where" "sorry dude I am over 500km away!", where as in the localised posts "how about we meet up?" "OK! see you in ten min at alex hds. I can check out these new mods on your car"

Do you see where I am coming from??????

I don't mean any offence

Very true, leave this thread open pleeeeaaasssseee nismo girl! Oh, and you never added me to msn nismo girl

I understand the whole chat thing slowing things down, but wide bay isnt such a big place and it would be good to yack to people from the same area to share info, mods, catch up! maybe even get a cruze going!

How but just give it a go and if you still hate it in a week nismo girl then just ask ryan b4 just closing the thread! kind rude just closing on him...

but yeah im kezza, i have a smicko R32 GTS-t FMIC 3" full trust exhaust from turbo back, Boosted to 12PSI , running split fire coils, HKS power flow pod, Trial front bar, GAB sus , 16" gold chrome mags.

Big ass audio system all APLINE.

Would love to catch up with people from the wide bay area :)

Im not sticking up for anyone here as i am a inderpendant moderator...

Let me explain that when Sam started the sunshine post chat post others started gold coast ones and all of a sudden we has 4 topics of different areas.

Remember back to when GTR cruise got played up with other model specific car cruises as a joke. People get jealous and want a piece of their own action.

We allowed the sunshine coast and the gold coast ones as they were being used quite regularlly and were quite friendlly and didnt require much moderation.

But we did warn at the time that NO more threads about area specific chat would be allowed. If they get closed then those people complain about the sunshine coast chat post.

I understanding as to why Nismogirl closed the sunshine coast chat post is basiclly in short is cause it didnt comply to everyone and other users wanted their own chat post. Once the other chat posts were closed or bumped to the moved area those people complained about the sunshine coast chat post and how it was allowed. As you can understand we cant have one set of rules for the sunshine coast and other rules for everyone else.

At the end of the day Nismogirl is the only person who will reverse the closed topic.

Hey, I'm new to these forums. Don't yet have a Skyline or the like but I do own a SSS Pulsar and before that I had an R31 Skyline. I plan on selling the SSS and hopefully getting a nice Stagea, since it will be only 1 of 2 in Hervey Bay.

As for the white '33, it is from Hervey Bay, and yes a female does own it. It is quite a nice car.

Hopefully I will join up as an active member of the Qld SAu when I get my Stagea (Well I should say, when me and the wife get OUR Stagea.)

Will be on here a lot more as time goes by researching and such for when the time comes to make the big purchase.

    • You're not wrong but 5W30 at 100C is like 10 cSt vs 25 cSt for 10W60. If we think in terms of viscosity margin 10W60 will probably still be ok at 130C but 5W30 is probably too little. It's absolutely shocking how hot the oil gets in something like a stock FL5 from only ~3 minutes of use on the Nordschleife. I would not risk taking a car like that to anything remotely intense without a ton of work done for cooling. Heat shielding on the manifold/turbo/downpipe, oil coolers, etc.
    • I think the concept is highlighting the various scenarios where thicker oil helps, and thicker oil potentially doesn't help and only generates heat and costs power, in turn for safety which isn't actually any safer (unless you're going real hot). If anything this does highlight why throwing Castrol 10w-60 for your track days is always a solid, safe bet.
    • Jason should have shown a real viscosity vs temp chart. All the grades have very little viscosity difference at full operating temperature.
    • Oops... I meant to include the connector  view... BR/W - power from fuse L/W - motor negative to fan control amp (and off to HVAC pin19) OR/B - PWM signal (from HVAC pin20) B --  ground
    • Yep, if you are applying filler it sounds like there is something wrong with the body lol. Safe to assume there is going to be a lot of sanding going on if your still applying fillers.  Picture a perfect bare metal panel, smooth as glass. You lay down your primer, it's perfect. (why are you going to sand it?) You lay down the colour and clear, it's perfect. No sanding at all took place and you've got a perfectly finished panel.  You won't be chasing your tail, sounds like you were prepping to start laying filler. If your happy with the body after the sanding, there is some bare metal exposed and some areas with primer, no issues at all, start laying the filler. You are safe to lay filler on bare metal or primer (of course check your technical data sheet as usual for what your filler is happy to adhere to).  This isn't a 100% correct statement. There is primer that is happy to adhere to smooth bare metal. There are fillers that are happy to adhere to smooth bare metal. Just make sure you're using the right materials for the job.  Typically if you are using filler, you would go primer, colour and clear. I've never seen any instances before where someone has laid colour over body filler (maybe this happens, but I haven't seen it before). So your plan sounds pretty normal to me.
