Yeah wilch and I were laughing about that one... I went with a GTT and left with a GTR - WOOOHOOOO!!!!

wilch clocked a 2:04 without a car! Imagine what he'd be like with a car :/

The RX7 had a split fuel line. The reason the guys couldn't put the fire out probably is because the lines were on fire from front to back of the car.

I've been over to the RENEW website and they have been effusive with their thanks for the flaggies efforts. We all really appreciate you guys.

Here is the combined times. I slipped down to 13th in the end from 10th earlier.

Reedy snuck into the 1:53's, OZ close to 1:51 flat, the love boat stormed around in 1:44, Majanal did a 1:54 before his intercooler hose blew apart, he and Chris Easton showed what the RB30DET's are capable of. Both had low peak power and crappy tyres but put in some really good times. Good to see Ando in the sub 2 minute club too.

Check my new sig :/

Here is the rest of the times.

Thanks to Abo Bob and the Renew guys for organising the day. I had a great day.

The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that some of us n00bs to EC, that have only done one track day somewhere else previously, weren't allowed to go out in the morning with an experienced driver to learn the lines and the track.

I went out freaking scared after the first few long corners. My car felt like it was all over the place, that and I had someone right up my arse (who I let pass asap). I was seriously shaken up. My car felt so unstable in the first session. It really freaked me out, especially since there just seem to be walls everywhere.

Because of this I skipped my second session.

Anyway, after playing with the suspension and tyre pressures I went back out and had a ball despite the fact I that there are two corners which are after a couple of crests, one goes right and one goes left. I was pretty much guessing which was which.. Which is really bad. But hey, I guess that's what happens when you're put out there for your first time and are expected to be up to pace with everyone else.....

Regardless, I had a ball. So much fun. Soooo much fun. Sorry I didn't open her up and get her sideways near the guys at turn two. I didn't want to burn the tires this time around, I have no more monies for new ones after that Oran day!

Fear my massive legs!

and grrr to spelling my last name wrong. lol

Abo,

It was good to see your fastest lap of the day was actually the last one when we were dualing! Good work!

Yeah, interesting. I really need to get some in car footage the next time I am tailing you around a track. It's a surreal look as you are slipping around the place pushing a bit hard then regaining control within a single second because we are both doing between 100 and 200+ km/h and often within a 1-2 car lengths of each other as it's happening.

Adam/Paul Good to see you two battling it out was good to watch. Same with the two rx7's (car 1 and other one).

Saw Majanal wanting to drift around corner 4 but stopped.

 What Stan has a GTR ? lols

Nice work Ando in the Ceffy 1.58.

Oh how good was the A4? So gracefull as it zoomed around.

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
