sorry forgot to say yes i was thinking of buying but problem is dont know how reliable a car is at 450kw atw

and would anyone recommend some other alternative to a an inspector rather then NRMA

thanks

well.....i notice that it doesn't say anything about freshly rebuilt so lets assume it isn't. Together with a laggy drag strip T88 turbo it would be a pain to drive and also a time bomb :D

As for a reliable inspection take it to one of the workshops that knows skylines and have them have a look at it, Nathan at Grey Imports would be my choice but also UAS in castle hill, Autosport Engineering at Kirawee etc etc

Ive seen the add for that car at Autostyle for the last few months. As far as i know its still got a stock RB26, so with 450AWKW its gonna need a rebuild sooner rather than later. Prolly why the owner got rid of it after haveing some fun with it. One of the forum memebrs is selling his R32GTR in Carpoint.com, its got a fresh engine rebuild with strengthened internals and a big assed t04z, all for 34K.

Good price IMO.

Theres quite a few big turboed equipped GTR's running around on stock engines that are now up for sale before the owner has to invest in the engine...

For 35K id want a fresh engined R32 GTR.....

Tick Tick Tick....

Seriously, Autostyle build cars for one reason and one reason only, to go really fu*$ing fast, now do you want something which is going to be accommodating more to the drag strip or daily driver....? Because this car isn't both.

Don't get me wrong, sounds wicked, but just not appropriate for a daily driver me thinks, particularly with a T88 strapped to it...

Eek thats my GTR with the T04Z :O

Anyone actually dealt with Autostyle? Thinking of consigning my car over to them....

Hey Morgs, ive dealt with Autostyle before. I bought my GTR off them, Dom Russo is a nice bloke and i found him to be honest. Depsite not haveing to, he payed for some repairs to my car a few days after i bought it when it broke down on me, despite not haveing a warranty, which i thought was pretty good of him.

I traded my highly modified Mazda GTR to them aswell which saved me the hassle of selling a car that would of been difficult.

If/When the day comes to sell my GTR im pretty sure ill let someone like Autostyle sell it for me. Let them advertise and give up their time for potential buyers. Plus id be shit scared of being jumped for the car if i was selling it privately. When Jimbo and his 2 mates covered in tatts turn up and want a test drive, id be getting pretty nervous!!!! They do take a commision, but im not sure of the %. If the GTR isnt your daily driver then id give it a go, if its your sole transport then its not really an option...

Cheers, good luck with the sale... :)

This is not meant to be a slur on Autostyle as i know Dominic and respect his business....

but.....

Autostyle import their stock directly from Japan, and apart from tiding up the cars for sale....rarely have any input into the cars build....hence you are purchasing a car with limited knowledge of its history...this is part of the reason why the cars have such an attractive price tag attached.

With all performance purchases its buyer beware...as that cheap car can very quickly send you broke.

This example would be a great buy for someone with the finances to pull the engine give it a stengthen and freshen up so they are confident of trouble free motoring.

after seeing how hard they drive the cars at events like powercruise - I personally wouldn't buy one from them..

and - and would anyone recommend some other alternative to a an inspector rather then NRMA you being serious??

Selling a car through them is probably different to buying one from them..

Thanks mazgtr for the feedback

Will have a chat to Dom then ;)

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
