Armourall extreme tyre shine. It doesnt stick on the tyre properly, consequensly it flies off the tyre and will go around the guards and when you wash the car the paintwork will go all specaly. My cars black so it wasnt too bad, but its damaged the paintwork (cut and polish should fix it) but it shouldnt have happened in the first place.

I use a product called '303 Aerospace Protectant' - absolutely brilliant on all rubber and plastic, UV resistant and really brings plastics back from the dead.

A boring fact is it was developed for NASA for use on plastics on satellites or some such thing :P

Only know of two places in perth that sell it really though, which is a bummer. Harder to get hold of then some of the Meguiars products :D

yeah, the foaming armourall is the one I use, never had a problem with it... except if you get some on the rims and havent cleaned them yet, cos it partly cleans them and leaves a bit of a streak... but if the last thing you do when you clean your car is the tyres, then it's not a problem.... Like Psiko said, it's not a black coat, it's a tyre cleaner....

I dont want to seem pedantic, but why is it we can tell people to avoid products of certain companies, while threads mentioning bad things about tuning shops and the like are locked in a matter of minutes?

Are larger corporations allowed to be criticised?

If thats the case id like to take issue with:

Microsoft

Exxon

Enron

Worldcom

Mayne Group

Stern Lecture Plumbing

Thankyou. :P

Just a general heads-up about this product. It seems, from what most people say, this is common of other tyre shine products. I think thats acceptable. I didnt go all out and critisise the company or product, I didnt "bad mouth" them. Armourall have agreed to refund my purchase and I'm happy about that. I've used their other tyre shine product, which can also be used on your dash/interior, on my tyres and it worked great, so I thought I'd give this one a try.

Kiwi shoe polish works fine for me ........... !!!!

Hey guys, why's everyone so touchy in WA at the moment? I've been reading and watching for a coupla months before I felt I could offer anything sensible. And in that time, it all seems to have gone down a coupla notches in quality, with people sniping at each other. Is there too much iron in the water or something?

Cheers.

P.S. OK - sorry - off topic, I know. Mea Culpa.

The tyre has to be f#cken clean first, and your suppose to wipe off any excess. If you drive off with the tyre dripping with tyre shine what do expect??

Buy the pressure pack ones, turtle wax one or the......... cant remember the name, comes in a blue can. Good shit anyway.

Or you could go to a bike shop and buy "Super Motorcycle Shine". Sounds gay, works fuggen brilliantly! Between that and "Plexus", my bike comes up a million dollars, and it works well on cars too ... it just takes longer thanks to being about five times bigger :D

    • Yea got me coppers. Bad news is I just put them in and the car still has the light and shakes. I also noticed I hear like rattling coming from the exhaust piping right under me. Does 21 also have a possibility of being O2 sensors?   So, coil packs are good, the harness is good, the MAF is working, and obviously the spark plugs just replaced and working.
    • Make sure you drop the GTT base tune back in, and set your injectors again, this will remove anything playing up with it you may have removed. Possibly lean there as it's normally a fast transient going THROUGH atmospheric pressure, and a turbo motor would then quickly go richer as boost builds. The only worry you MIGHT have is ignition timing, as the DE is higher compression than the DET from memory. But again, you're not in boost, so the DE motor will be a lot more forgiving at atmospheric.   Get Murray, Kinkstahs, and Johnny's input on tuning haltechs, those guys have played with tuning enough in the past to be able to help now you're past the trouble shooting stage of the MAP issue
