Havent posted for a while so I thought I stick my nose in.

Just fitted an oil cooler to the beast. Now I know how Nissan built the GTR. They took an oil filter cartridge and an air con unit and then decided to build a car around it.

Next job is to put the car back together, I mean literally 40,000 bits to go back on.

I also know why the service manual is so important. If you start at step 5 there is no way the thing will fit. You gotta do it by the book.

Cheers and Comon Summer.

F#cking skyline engine bays..... My R31 coupe is like the tardis, but in reverse - it looks big but fark no, you can't get near anything. Generally speaking, if you can see something you can't get a tool anywhere near it; conversely if you can get a tool onto something, you normally can't see it. Removing/refitting the gearbox takes 3 feet of assorted extension bars, thats with the Gearbox mount dropped and the back of the box lowered...

So, yeah, I'd hate to have to work on a GT-R! I figure by the time I can afford to own one of those, I can afford to pay to torture someone else have someone else perform mechanical work.

I hear that!! My old GTS-X was an ass of a thing to work with!!! The GTR is actually easier for some things... But working on them is half the fun!

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
