im just wondering will any headunit fit on nicely or will it have a gap on the right side ??

I recken with the aftermarket HU surround plate, you could fibreglass it to the right size? Might want to get a pro to do it for you... i'm not sure how much it would cost, but it's not a huge piece of work.

acutally a different panel will fix that. see if you can find another R34 with the 'normal' radio in it and grab the VIN. run dow to nissan and get teh right part.

never seen that unit - what version 34? (chassis code pls.)

yeh my car is a bit different, it has the DVD/TV/GPS system stuff *which doesnt work in aust WHAT THE POINT!* lol

comes wif a screen instead of the 3 gauges i iwll chekc up for u later to cold to go outside =P

bought it at a dealer thoguht the in das screen would work but they did wat they do best BULL ShT! abt fixing it

Mines setup exactly the same way. Cassette underneath, climate control in the middle, and tv headunit up top.

Unfortunately you're going to have to make your own bezel like I did. I'm still not happy with mine and going to redo it in carbon fibre.

The way that is set up is for the R34s that came out with the TV Screen instead of the Triple Gauge Cluster...

Howie; your car would have had the TV Screen on top - I'm assuming you have replaced it with the gauge pod (from the looks of it anyway)

Peteness; you can either remove the TV screen and put the triple gauges in like Howie; or you can rig the TV Screen up to another DVD player of some sort and watch stuff off it :)

You have PM.

^^ that is correct... this is because the centre console of the R34 flares outwards as you go up like this: \ /

The climate control would need to be wider to fit in the new position if you were to incorporate the double DIN space.

If anyone can get the fascia for the double DIN space; or the part number from Nissan that would be awesome; I will love you! Every time I've tried to get the part number; I've failed miserably~

The previous owner replaced it, i even found a boat load of diversity antenna gear still in the boot.

satanic, isn't the part no# in the japanese manual ? That thing has nearly everything in there lol.

This is the reason you shouldn't buy an R34 with navigation in it :(

You can get the replacement aircon control unit from Yahoo auctions and rip out the navigation system. You will also need the centre console front fascia also available on the auction site.

This is what it's supposed to look like:

Well according to FAST its the part highlighted in red in this image.

If that's the right part then the part number is 68260-AA400. It's called a LID-CLUSTER...

    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
    • Hi all,   long time listener, first time caller   i was wondering if anyone can help me identify a transistor on the climate control unit board that decided to fry itself   I've circled it in the attached photo   any help would be appreciated
    • I mean, I got two VASS engineers to refuse to cert my own coilovers stating those very laws. Appendix B makes it pretty clear what it considers 'Variable Suspension' to be. In my lived experience they can't certify something that isn't actually in the list as something that requires certification. In the VASS engineering checklist they have to complete (LS3/NCOP11) and sign on there is nothing there. All the references inside NCOP11 state that if it's variable by the driver that height needs to maintain 100mm while the car is in motion. It states the car is lowered lowering blocks and other types of things are acceptable. Dialling out a shock is about as 'user adjustable' as changing any other suspension component lol. I wanted to have it signed off to dissuade HWP and RWC testers to state the suspension is legal to avoid having this discussion with them. The real problem is that Police and RWC/Pink/Blue slip people will say it needs engineering, and the engineers will state it doesn't need engineering. It is hugely irritating when aforementioned people get all "i know the rules mate feck off" when they don't, and the actual engineers are pleasant as all hell and do know the rules. Cars failing RWC for things that aren't listed in the RWC requirements is another thing here entirely!
    • I don't. I mean, mine's not a GTR, but it is a 32 with a lot of GTR stuff on it. But regardless, I typically buy from local suppliers. Getting stuff from Japan is seldom worth the pain. Buying from RHDJapan usually ends up in the final total of your basket being about double what you thought it would be, after all the bullshit fees and such are added on.
