Hey guys,

my R33 gt-st has some faded spots on the steering wheel. i think the guy who had it before me had the brilliant idea of using armour all on the leather! :S

anyways, i have tried meguiars rich leather on it and it cleaned up some of the faded spots however, there are still some spots no matter how many times i apply the rich leather, the faded spots still return.

anyone know how much it would cost to get the leather re-done on a steering wheel?

cheers

It's very expensive. From other people's experiences on here, it's around $200 for good leather.

I don't think it's possible to fix. Has the leather worn through that top shiny stuff?

I tried every single thing possible on one of my seats in my other car. Didn't work.

it will probably cost you more than a nice aftermarket steering wheel.

prices will vary and dont forget you'll be steering with a spanner for a few days while they replace the leather on your steering wheel :)

I can't get mine clean either. I just thought id mention to be careful what you use. You dont want your steering wheel to end up really slippery.

Good point Rob. A few years ago I was cleaning my motorcycle and absent-mindedly armorall'd the vinyl seat... I found out the hard way, but managed to keep it upright! >_<

hey mate

you can buy paint that is actually for carpets, rubber, vinal etc.

from memory it actually works for leather too...

you simply spray it on like normal paint but it sticks to the leather and flexes

a mate of mine used it and it just looks like the normal steering wheel...

check out the paint section of repco/supercheap etc.
