The story of Mariah

post-4594-1154942025.jpg

A long long time ago in a land far far away a stock yet stunningly beautiful r34 4 door rolled of the production line. Her silver paint gleaming in the sun, her alloys gleaming and her engine purring promiscuously. Eventually she boarded a boat and was shipped to Sydney where i first laid eyes on her.

Purchased as what would probably become a family car, the plans for her where not too large. Yet like any pretty girl she needed her accessories. First on the shopping list of course was a pair of new shoes.

Although happy with her new shoes she felt she was showing a bit too much leg so that problem was solved.

Happy with her new look she kept it for a while untill one warm summers day. While out and about she caught her reflection in a shop window, to her horror she realised just how ugly her nose really was. That was it something had to be done, and the boys from Tom's Rhinoplasty were called in to fit her with a nose she could truely be proud of.

with her new nose in place she was once again happy. Unfortunatly through a cruel twist of fate her owner becasme single, so Mariah decided it was time tho throw away her original family aspirations and step things up a notch. She was now ready to hit the town, but alas she had nothing to wear! So it was decided there and then some new skirts were needed

Having always been a big fan of Nelly Mariah couldn't reisit taking his new song Grillz literaly and decided to bling up her mouth. Unfortunatly she also started to become a little depressed and turned a little bit Emo, thus changing her silver make up for the more appropriate black.

With her life still feeling empty it was time for this girl to learn how to play an instrument. She had always been a fan of the flute, so she put much time and effort into learning this new skill. Eventually she became quite a tallented player, even managing to play two at once

And that is the Mariah's story so far.

To be continued...

*Yes i know the post probably sounds very strange and slightly homosexual, but i didn't just want to say 'oi look at my car uleh'*

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
