just wondering if anyone's dealt with/bought cars thru autostyle in sydney? talked to dominic on the phone the other day and he seemed pretty reasonable but just wanted some opinions (if there are any) as to their service and the quality of their cars - thinking about buying thru them. any feedback would be cool, thanks guys

He's a premium dealer.

By that I mean you'll see a lot of cars which are cheaper than the ones he has in other peoples private adds and other car lots. But I mean you kinda take your life in your own hands picking out 2nd hand cars, least with Dom's you know its going too work, not f**k up or break down (well as much as you can expect from a performance car!), some dodgy chop job or stolen. Pretty handy for parts, services and support too.

Dunno how much my word is worth :whistling:

Makes any difference I've bought one car off him (I still own), friends have bought another 3 over the last 6years, end of this year I'll probably buy another of him because he's not a crook.

Up to you, if you can find an inspect a 2nd hand car which is the same condition for less money then by all means buy it.

They are crap.. went to look at a 32 ages ago.. he wanted too much for it.. bald tyres, cracked kit, cracked mirrors..

Wasnt impressed.. didnt like there service either.. so glad i didnt buy from them..

Dom always takes time to speak with you which i find good, but what price can you put on that?

When i was buying my R32 i was looking on the net, the papers, EVERYWHERE for weeks, i had a few i was keen on, then when i was ready to buy, 2 of the ones i wouldve bought were now at Autostyle, and marked up accordingly. I ended up buying privatly.

My mates dad bought a 310kw gtp falcon (orange, carbon bonnet, black rims farken beautiful!) from them with no problems, car was spotless condition, went like nothing i have ever experienced, (need a neck brace)...

was a good car at a bit of a premuim price but was worth it,

ended up selling the car back through them after a while of owning it, for a much cheaper price, yeah the falcons for holding their value!

didnt deal with them personally but thats just another story to add to the collection

Oh yeah,

Seen that there, very nice looking car.

They started getting alot more muscle cars in there now as well because the import scence has died down.

we took that car to bathurst last year for the big race, it got looks like you wouldnt imagine, i dont know why my mates dad sold that car, i loved it, he loved it, everyone loved it, maybe petrol consumption and worried about licences :)

88silhouette- the falcon was burnout tested by whoever from autostyle that took my mate and dad for a test drive :) it ripped some mad skidz ;)

id love to have a nice muscle car, dont see too many nice ones around nowadays

ah well sounds like they may be a bit overpriced but i just feel a bit more secure buying through someone with a reputation. i have a knack for buying lemons. thanks for all the feedback tho.

Well Dominic is a Family friend of ours and also Sam, they are really great people, some people say they are expensive but you get what you pay for I say..

If you ever seen his SKYLINE you'd know he is spot on with chosing cars carefully his car is an ANIMAL..

Dominic takes time with you he wants to Know exactly what you are after...

You wont be disappointed dealing with AUTOSTYLE mate....

Let us know the outcome ok.... :-)

    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
    • Hi Everyone I am from West Pennant Hills in NSW. Been too busy until recently to attend to my RB25DET Series 2 engine until recently. I am planning to stick it into the S15 shell at this stage, unless a nice SR20DET turns up... For now, i am going to try and get the RB25 running and working well then decide what gearbox to use. My preference is to retain the SR20DET  6 speed gearbox and tail shaft to retain as much and least modifications as i can avoid. I am an old guy and won't be doing any heavy drifting so i don't need a bullet proof gearbox Does anyone have experience with starting the RB on a stand? I got everything setup as much as I can with the info i can find... endless searching and videos on Youtube I would be great to get some pointers Cheers Songo
    • Hey all, Recently have had my s1 r33 gtr serviced and noticed my coolant reservoir was topped up to the max line. Took the car out for 1 yesterday and noticed today the reservoir is completely empty.  Any ideas? Radiator is full
