just wondering how much power rb20/25 afm's will support on a R32 gtr? I see most people use the z32 afm's but they are quite alot more expensive. Was reading an old zoom mag and they said to use the rb20/25 afm's. Im aiming for about 300 - 320awk. Will thse do the job? Also do the wires for the plugs need to be changed around or are they straight plug in?

Cheers

plugs are the same but the flex hose will fit if you try really hards LOL. you will need a re map thought as i did this to find it was very lean on the air fuel ratio.

Cheers mate. looking at that then 2 rb20/25 is plenty for what im after. You know if the plug or wirring needs to be modified to fit to a rb26?

Interesting people have not steered ytou on the straight line!!!

You'll be able to get away without changing the AFM's

Ferni did using GT-SS i believe, and im also gonna give it a whirl on my very similar setup :P

Munna's "rule of thumb" is totally wrong in its power readings.

Z32's/Q45's read a fark load more than 250/300rwkw respectively

Although its more about airflow than power anyway

well maybe i should keep the cash and go for the tune straight away with the standard afm's. im running hks 2530's pfc and have a set of sard 700cc injectors to through in. Think i should invest in a pump then instead of afm's.

Is it possible to put an external 044 inline with the standard pump without using a surge tank?

Hi, I have R32 GTR with standard afm's and 375 kw at the rears on 18psi. Havent tried to push them any further yet though. Hope this helps.

Do you have a Power FC?

What is the max voltage you see, as i regularly see 5.1volts with 310hp(230kw?) at the wheels.

Anyone else maxing there AFM at similar power level?

So you say you standard 26 afm's a maxing out at only 230rwk? something cant be right there. They both read that?

Hi, yes I do have power FC. Im not sure about the volts, I dont realy play with my FC, But Ill try to find out for you next time I drive it.

Yeah mate I know, I"ve read the tables too, with 400hp atw apparently the limit on std AFM(or Scoop may prove us wrong)

But they both read roughly the same, using the sw check they seem to fluctuate within a few millivolts of each other.

Could also be due to the cold weather as I never noticed them sitting that high in the summer.

It would be interesting to see other peoples power and peak voltage..

Hi guy's, first up Im not a tuner and I dont claim to know much about tuning. Im trying to learn but its all beond me, give me a chev with a holly carb and I can tinker with that just fine. Anyway my AFM are maxed out [no tuneing resolution] but they still flow the air to support the power. That is the way it has been explained to me, and that is all I can go on. What power would I need to run 10.9 @ 127.4 mph? Fair bit of wheelspin through first gear. This was my first time out with the car as we'll. :(

You ran a 10.9? or your asking how much power you would need? What turbos are you running?

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
