in that case DO A SEARCH as i have posted in 3 threads about it in the last 2 weeks...

im not looking for a valve body upgrade. im looking for a fully manualised auto which im pretty sure is called 'quickshift'.

pkblade is referring to a short shift kit which is in the manuals.

Hey SECUR1TY let us know how you go with Dynamic Racing Transmissions. Prices etc.

What have you got on your line atm? Power?

Do you have a transcooler yet?

Are you getting problems with your auto box?

will do.

191ish kw.

yes.

yes. the problem is close to being fixed (im buying a new TPS and seeing how i go).

with the valve body upgrade does the car shift gears as soon as you put it into 2nd from first etc?

Sorry wasnt too sure what you meant, havent heard that term before...'quickshift'.

If your planning to stick with the RE4RO1A, there are two main ways to go manualised auto/ clutchless manual/ semi-automatic or what ever you want to call it:

1) Manual valve body & sports shifter (optional); or

2) MV Auto's electronic shift controller, shift kit (optional but recommended) & sports shifter (optional).

I took the later path w/ the ever so popular B&M pro-ratchet shifter. Clicky to check out the range -> http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=produ...sid=2&cat=2

With either of the 2 options you can install stand alone computers (ie. Power FC, Motec etc).

Also, if you decide to get a B&M shifter, MV Auto's have the custom brackets for it to fit.

thanks so much for that!

what $ figure am i looking at to go with either set up?

Dont remember what I was quoted for the full manual valve body but, you can try emailing KEAS for one http://www.keas.com.au/contact.htm

Here are some approx costs for the second set up:

MV Auto shift controller $260

B&M 4speed gated or ratchet shifters $200-400 (check out ebay)

RE401A selector brackets for shifter $50

Labour for the above is about $300

Also, your current shifter console surround will no longer fit so, a custom one will need to be fabricated.

+ Shift kit $350 (exchange).

You might find interesting to know according to Mike from MV Auto's a healthy RE4 trans w/ supporting mods is good for up to 300rwkw without touching the planetary gear set, whereas Paul from KEAS believes its only good for 240rwkw.

BTW how many km's has your trans done?

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
