UPDATED 20/9/2006

ALL 2 BATCHES SUBMITTED (26 PEOPLE, ALMOST 40 PAIRS OF ROTORS) SUCCESSFULLY. GROUP BUY HAS ENDED.

GROUP BUY RE-OPENED, THE 3RD BATCH IS IN THIS NEW THREAD

Hi All,

I had contacted a rep from the RDA Brakes (Rotors & Drums Australia) and they're willing to give a good deal/discount depending on the qty that we ordered.

Slotted Rotors

Grooved Dimpled (Dimpled & Slots)

More info can be found here: RDA Brakes Products

Also, I have attached a zip file of RDA disc rotor part number for Nissan cars (Download and open Zip file, then open the XLS file, and just click read-only at the password prompt).

The list of group buy people is as in this spreadsheet (zipped):

<spreadsheet removed to protect pricing structure, not available to general public, only to serious buyers pm me only>

People listed above please open the spreadsheet attachment and see if your car, slot/dimple, and front/rear options are correct.

PM me with any errors or amendments, do not update the excel spreadsheet. I will confirm the part numbers with RDA so to ensure

you will get the correct parts.

Regards,

Rianto

depends how much i'm quoted on a pair from another source... i may be in as my front rotors need machining so i might as well upgrade...

how long till close? id need about a fortnight... :S

lunaticR32 - i've put you in, r32 gtst should be no probs, I think you can use the same rotors as r33 gtst ones, i've got an excel sheet of all nissan parts they have i'll check later.

freddykruger - at the moment we're still gauging interest so I can go back to RDA n say "x ppl interested and about x pairs of rotors will b ordered, what's ur best deal?" you can jump in later once the group buy starts rolling.

prelude_1976 - i've put you in. don't think they make cross drilled. even DBA discourage use of cross drill in hi performance applications as they tend to crack. for best strength maybe you'd b better off with dimpled ones (see pics on 1st thread). but i'll ask the guy at rda if they can cater your need.

Dimpled and slotted is fine.

Ive got cross drilled at the moment and its got deep grooves from the pads, so totally unserviceable, hence the need for new rotors.

Put me in for front and rear, R32 GTR

Thanks

^^ im guessin ones just your normal slotted ones..

The other ones have dimples in them (the little holes) plus the slots.. So greater effect of removing dirt and cooling etc etc..

frankxinyu, I'll put your name in the list.

basically the dimples one are almost like cross drilled. but unlike cross drilled where the strength and integrity of the disc could be compromised by removing the material from the drilling process, in dimpled that effect is not as bad. you've still got the slot to disperse the build ups between pads and rotor surface, plus the dimples also helps it even more, and cosmetically it will look as if a cross drilled rotors.

Hi rs73

Good work with the gb thread :D , still definately interested will take the front slotted (not dimpled) for R33 GTST. Also do you have a rought guesstimate on how much postage will be?

i'll ask them a rough estimate of delivery costs...

R34 GTT front slotted 310mm??

I'm asking that to RDA at the moment, waiting for their reply. They should have the same size with DBA as their part no can be cross-checked with DBA as well. Have a look at the first post, I have added an XLS spreadsheet attachment for all Nissan cars. (You do not need to enter password to open the file in read-only mode).

I;ve added myself in the list as I want the rear slot rotors :D

So how much for a set of R32 GTR rotors?

Sorry, I haven't got full price list at the moment but expect to be about $500 for a full set not including group buy discount. So with group buy discount you may be looking at about $370-$390 for a full set.

I'll try to get more price list from the guy at RDA as I've told him we now have about 7 people interested and about 10 pairs of rotors might be ordered, so he'll know that we're serious and won't be wasting their time... :-)

Rear R33/R32/R34 turbo rotors are the same I'm pretty sure, so the group buy would also suit rears on these cars. You might want to update the top so that people are aware of this.

    • Nah, they'll do it without a receipt, tell em roughly when it was, that it was cash, youll likely only get store credit, but that gets you some dollars towards the newer better shovel, or other item you need/want later.   Still take it back and have a crack at returning it.
    • Nah. Was just wondering if you were having a small stroke or if there was some slur/gaf/inside joke that I wasn't aware of.
    • That was a fark up, it's Salamanca Place I was thinking of. And now I'm curious as to what potential slur/gaf I have caused with Salamander Road, ha ha!
    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
