Oh, and I have no idea about gold passivated. Can you shed me some lights. I maybe organising the group buy but I'm no metallurgy expert.

They must make two variations on the slotted and dimpled rotors. The numbers you quoted had an "s" suffix but the gold passivated ones appear to have a "g" suffix

I am assuming that maybe the "s" variation is a standard finish (i.e naked) whereas the "g" model has a gold coating on top of silver. Can you possibly verify that with the rep and get prices on both please

Note : the 324mm rotors for the gtr32vspec & gtr33/34 are 30mm thick not 32

The following paragraph was copied from the RDA web page :-

Grooved Sports Rotors

NEW! Gold Passivated, Directionally Grooved Disc Brake Rotors, For the Discerning Motorist.

These discs are ZINC PLATED and GOLD PASSIVATED to avoid corrosion, and have all the advantages of our standard slotted rotors as described below. They are packaged as a pair in a high quality gloss black box, and each rotor is marked as LEFT or RIGHT for easy identification and fitment.

shozbot,

Well I never asked RDA but I was assumeing 'S' for Slotted and 'G' for Grooved and Dimpled.

Well if 'G' is the gold passivated, then that should be the one for you.

7701G 324mm fronts are $429 incl GST, 908G rears 297mm $<<price removed pm to GB members only>> all prices discounted already.

Just for curiousity is your car R33 GTR? If so then your rear discs should be 7702G 300mm

not 908G 297mm for R33 GTS-t, unless you have a GTS-t with big brembo upgrade kit at the front.

In case you really need GTR rear grooved and dimpled, it's 7702G for $<<price removed pm to GB members only>> inc GST.

muz,

R34 GT-T what I have from DBA catalog cross check is using exactly the same as R33 GTSt

Front 296mm: 7693S (slot) $<<price removed pm to GB members only>> or 7693G (grooved dimpled) $<<price removed pm to GB members only>>

Rear 297mm: 908S (slot) $<<price removed pm to GB members only>> or 908G (grooved dimpled) $<<price removed pm to GB members only>>

Some guys here told me their R34 GT-T has 300mm instead at the front, now I'm still chasing that one up with RDA, because the guy wasn't at their computers yesterday so he can't give me any answer. I'll try again ASAP as tonight I'll be finishing work early for an annual company dinner out, and I've got appointments tomorrow morning so I won't be able to look into this Group Buy thing until Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Sorry guys,

I just rang RDA the guy who deals with me is not in today and will be back Monday, so unfortunately I won't be able to give out exact shipping prices or give info about that 300mm R34 GT-T rotors or any other cars.

He's the manager there, so I'll have to wait till Monday as no one else there is probably authorised to give special discount price to public. and I think he only worked Monday to Wednesday.

Some more info

I measured my R34 GTT front disc last night

It was 310mm diameter

R33 Gtst disc at 296mm would be too small, the pads would be hanging over the edge of the disk

Allright. i'll mention that to Scott.

If they don't have the 310mm available then all of you with 310mm R34 front rotors maybe will have to go with DBA. I've given him DBA's part no so he might be able to track the corresponding one available in RDA.

Guys, sorry I had to remove all posts and attachements that leads to pricing, as they have got problems from NSW branch managers dealing with customers as pricing was posted here and looks like general public been surfing this forum a lot and took it to RDA and use it as bargaining power.

I'm trying to maintain good relations and faith with RDA otherwise this whole group buy thing will have to be cancelled and forget the nice prices... so only for those interested, seriously interested to buy and make payments within next week, then I will provide pricing for them.

For any reasons please do not post pricing to general public on any other forums! Otherwise as I said, GB will be taken off.

ok so assuming the GB will take place, when can we pay, and how long after that will the rotors start to go out? Any idea of timeframes? Deadlines for payment?

thanks for all the effort, its a shame that some issues came up!

pm sent, Rob.

And I've just spoken to them, they can't find any 310mm rotors to suit R34 GT-T so those with such rotors will need to find elsewhere.

Road shipping would be under $30 and can get it delivered anywhere in Australia within about 3 business days.

But before that happens I'll need a confirmed list on who decided to pickup from one of their branches and who prefers to enjoy sitting at home/work and wait for the deliveries. That way I can sort out NSW people on the list who needs to go to branch A or B, and NSW people who wants delivery, etc etc cos they're not gonna do the sorting through the list for us.

I will send a pm tonight to all of you who hasn't confirmed delivery or pickup to me.

Awesome work buddy, you've done the hard yards in this group buy and done it well!!!

As for the delivery, $30 seems like a great price and that's the way I'm gonna have to go since there is no distributor in my state (SA)

no worries Luke, I've got your address detail, I'm sorting out the list tonight, and separate the deliveries and pickups and I'm gonna have to collect payments individually so I can transfer to RDA in:

a) delivery batches and

b) pickup batches -

Also to avoid confusion for pickups guys as the other branches in other states may not be aware of our special group buy, therefore IMHO it's better for you to prepay to avoid any issues during pickups.

And for those who delivers, yes of course you need to pre-pay first :-)

As of you who hasn't known / heard of me, I understand it can be scary handing your money over someone at SAU. Just a quick background I've organised 3-4 skidpan days with Driver Dynamics back in 2003 & 2004, those who has joined Kevin Flynn's "course" can ask him directly and he'll know me, as well as I've met in person most SAU VIC committee & members e.g. Al, Snowman, Scotsman, etc.

Hi..

What's the possibility of picking up the item this saturday? Otherwise I may need to pull out of this GB. Sorry if this has caused any inconvenience... but if Saturday is good, let me know when I need to make the payment.

Again, thanks heaps for organising the GB. Great work!

Dennis, I gave you their email address via pm, have you check with Bankstown branch if they're open on Saturday?

If I get all payments sorted out by Wednesday, it's still pretty tight schedule to get it delivered to Bankstown by Friday for you to pickup on Saturday, as that is depending on their inter-branch delivery schedule and whether the bankstown branch is open on Saturday.

I checked with them and yes, they are open on saturday, half day. Would really appreciate if you could check with them if saturday is possible next time you are in contact with RDA.

Sorry to rush as I need to bring my car to my mechanic next week.

Thanks heaps with your help so far...

    • For these last 7 years of ownership, I've always had to use a small scissor jack under one of the front tow hooks to raise the front just enough so my low-profile jack fits under to reach my subframe jack point. I'm beginning to get annoyed of always having to do this. Are there any lower low-profile jacks that fit under the gtr lip on a dropped car?
    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
