Shortly the crew at ESP will have their 4WD dyno ready, but there's really only Pete at Autotech Services and DTS in Fyshwick and Jake's Performance in Mitchell, all 2WD. Me? I'd hold out for ESP's unit:it'll be worth it!

ESP? LTSjayce have they been around long? Can i ask where they are located?

Purchased my car a couple of weeks ago (after about a year without an import) and i would like to get it tuned by a good and reputable workshop, it has a mines computer in it and was wondering if any tuner in Canberra would have mines software?

ESP have been around for a while, flying under the radar of normal, everyday tuning. They're most noted for their big hitting gold street/drag supra and the 513 AWKW STi WRX 'Diablo'. They've moved to new, bigger premises on Gilmore Road,Queanbeyan. It's the old Capital Harley Davidson building, about halfway down the road. Daniel(AKA 'Shafty' from his days at Shaftmasters) and Glenn are champions;nice fellas that'll listen to what you want from your car.

As for the Mines software,I'm unaware of anyone in Aus' that's got the stuff. From the little info' leaked out of Mines,I believe it's a flash-type software;a reflashed ECU is their speciality. There are people capable of doing such work in this country. Wheather or not ESP has dealt with the Mines gear,I can't be sure. Howvere, they'll have a red hot crack at getting a solution for you.

Just slightly off-topic,but still to do with tuning,I'll still back Ed' & Anthony at Integra Automotive. Whilst they don't have their own dyno, they have a few at their disposal, and are tops at looking after imports. Could be worth a call!

Hope this helps... J

Jayce is on the money re the Mines ecu, Blitz Access ecu is along the same lines. Chiptorque in Nerang are about the only people I know in Oz with a 4wd dyno that can reflash after installing their own chip. I understand Dr Drift in Melb can also do it but not sure of the contact details or dyno access. Some people seem to get very good results with the Jap 'flashed'ecu - but you really need to run it up on the dyno and see, at least for safety sake.

Afaik DTS dyno is 4wd, at least it was when I went there.

Cheers

if you do a search it should yield some results. there was also an HPI article some time ago and from memory they found the pre tuned ecu was very rich with not a lot of gain. the thing with those ecus is that you don't really know for sure what they are tuned for although there are guidelines.

warm idle should be about 950 rpm cold about 1100 but then again it could be the ecu.

cheers

Shut up beau...

Anyway back to business.

Trojan in mitchell do my work for me. Very good. Know more about Skylines than Nissan. They currently use the dyno at jakes. See John.

As for Mines computers. As far as I know they are virtually untunable. They are mostly used in conjunction with other hardwear like Apexi SAFC's for example.

So I might have to think about getting something easier to tune like a power fc. Seems to be a popular choice for the gtr's. Might wait till i get back from overseas and see how much money i have left.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
