anyone remember that veilside widebody that used to belong to UPI (plates were BNR32). that car was hot! its the only widebody that i liked (and surprisingly made by veilside, who in my opinion, make a lot of shit kits). pity they are so damn expensive! anyone know the going rate for them these days?

not sure if anyone in aus has imported the genuine veilside WB kits for 32 (except for ones already on cars). I will probably call in to veilside first week in november so if it's no trouble I'll find out what they charge for them these days.

sweeeet. all i need to do is sell one kidney and i should be right!

yeah, veilside do have some terrible kits but their widebody 32s have so much prescence in the flesh. they look amazing. i even like the veilside mariott wheels they put on them. suit the cars very well.

i'm interested to hear about shan's case also...

the fibreglasser we contracted to do the mould sold a copy to the company that supplied ali's kit. he was swayed by extra money thrown at him (seeing as they charged ali for a genuine kit i'm sure they had plenty spare)... nothing much we can do except call him names and give him a swift kick to the nuts.

Not gonna stress over it coz I'm over it. I've had the kit for like 3 years now... if people were that desperate for it they'll pay for a real one and copy it, so replica's are inevitable.

still feel pretty shitty about it though. shouldn't have even agreed to having the kit copied in the first place... now there's 3 cars in melbourne running around with copies of my kit and I still haven't had the time to put mine on... although Adam's one I don't really mind (red one at Autosalon) coz Adam's a mate.

Hmmmm.... aaaaaaahhhhh..... mmmmmmmm.... yep.

I'd hazard a guess that it's never gonna be put on :O

I seriously can't be f**ked anymore... I originally wanted to build a show car, but after moving to sydney (with the abysmal road conditions) and getting more and more involved in motorsport the less practical such a big kit seems. So not looking forward to babying the car around and parking the car ever so carefully once its put on.

you have to cut away part of the inner guard, and part of the guard underneath, and fabricate a new innerguard so the wider wheel dosen't scrape on anything.

the widebody guard goes right up to where the boot joins the guard, the point where the roof meets the body on the c pillar, and wraps just inside the door jam in front (so that there's no obvious joins when you look at the doorline) and at the back goes to the tail light. If you do it properly it makes a totally seamless blend.

I am against modifying wheel arches and bonding glass to metal panels. It will crack,

There is one GTSt cruising around with the prelim copy that was pulled off the mould (which was supposed to have been destroyed, but I'm guessing that was sold too... heh). The owner of that car's just rivetted the kit onto existing guards. Without it being blended it looks like arse with a sprinkling of shite.

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
