Got a new one to add a black hyundai getz - just today into fishwick. I really feel for the little engine - up the ass of a falcon then as soon as it hit double lane went to overtake.... hell funny though because as much as its 2.5' exhaust helped it was a hard effort and the falcon was driven by an old grandma... 0.2sec of wheel spin off the lights oh hes sooo cool

haha longest post i've ever seen from you Jayce !!

well done...good rant...i'll give you 9/10 :D :D

i haven't had anyone piss me off lately but i'm sure it won't be long.......

Thanks Shell! Takes a lot to get me into such a bender, but he was worth it! And,as the standard of driving in the Nation's Capital goes to the dogs,I'm sure we can all add our experiences here!! LOL!

And I agree with SkyGTRline:that car is sooo limp-wristed,pillow-biting,shirt-lifting,donut-punching G*Y :D ... :D

you should have seen the moron down here in victoria - total idiot. He tried to overtake a car around a bend - only thing was that the car in front of him was going to turn right into a one way street. The idiot trying to overtake, screeched to a halt (literally inches from having a collision) - then he let the other driver (a young lady) get into the one way street and park - after which he proceeded to hurl abuse and spit out the window - as if he was not at fault. Fortunately for him, a lot of people saw the incident (just a few meters away there were workers working on a building site), and hopefully his numberplates were taken down.

Just read on theage.com.au that some idiot who cut off a 20 year old, managed to get a claw hammer out and smash the 20 year olds cars window. Now that driver is being hunted by the cops too...

There are some absolute morons on the roads who dont deserve to drive - they deserve to be put in a straight jacket and put in a mental asylum...

perhaps they know the law will let them walk free - thats why they dont fear anything...When I lived in the middle east, the punishments were sooo tough, that we hardly hear about crime or anything on the news.....maybe its time for tougher punishments?

i hate people that pull out in front of you at intersections but DONT gun it so you have to brake down 20 kays so you dont run up the back of them! i flash and beep and let them know. hopefully they dont do it again.

yesterday i was waiting to turn right at the intersection where lake G and the bowling centre in belco are . i look in the rear view mirror and theres a car comin up, not slowing down. i was thinking shit this idiot gonna run up my ass. the light was still red so i couldnt go anywhere. look back again and he swings around my car into the lane to go straight ahead then cuts back in front of my car and goes flying through the red light round the corner when there was oncoming traffic about to go through the intersection. if only he got hit by a car so i could get out and smack him in the head.

Some people just have no idea at all!!!!!!!!

yeah ok i'll tell you what ticks me off.

we were in town the other night getting some takeaway. we get back to the car and there in front of us, this kid is reverse parking. he smacks into the car behind him TWICE (and not gentle bumps, either - there were dents).

and then he walked off.

then the other night some wanker steals our wheely bin.

I know the car, Know where its parked all the time in civic. Have seen it driving, I know what your talking about.

Karma my friend...

Karma...

He'll end up driving off a bridge with his sunnies on and have the police comment on the news about the reason for the accident... or something of similar comedic value.

Nah, they'll blame it on speed... just more evidence for the need for more fixed speed cameras to keep us all safe :(

Since we're having a rant... What is it with people that stick GTR badges on the back of non-GTR skylines??? I drove past two last Saturday alone.

Who the hell do these guys think they are impressing? The non car enthusiasts have no idea what a GTR is in the first place so they're not going to be impressed. The People who actually know something about cars know enough to tell that they are a moronic tryhard sticking another car's badge on their car.

As far as I can tell this is a lose, lose scenario? Am I missing something here?

I'm not just picking on skylines either, the number of BMW *cough* M3's out there is amazing.

Couldn't agree more. FFS,be PROUD of what you've got!

Here's another one:P platers that blow their horns in anger nearly a postcode BEFORE they pass a cyclist who's not actually on the road, but grovelling in the refuse, dead 'Roo and gravel in the shoulder of said road. THEN have the audacity to flip the bird at said cyclist who has done nothing to provoke anything. Cyclists should be issues handguns to blow out the back windows of such idiots...

When I bought the car it had a GTR sticker on it and I was like - sooo why is it there? answer: because when you hit a set of lights everyone thinks your driving a high performace car and you get the looks...

Why o why, ok I admit the GTR is a beast and everytime I see one I respect the car, love to have a look at any mods that make it stand out - but why o why do they do it? recon someone should start a poll and let those who have done it have their say - maybe us gtst owners are missing out on something that makes it worth while i dunno?

ALSO extreamly intrested in gettin a badge like that, I actually walked pasted one and thought ohh great another GTR badge but then walked to the back n didnt see the matching badge walked back to the front and couldnt believe it - wanted to shake hands with the owner!

Addition - asshats that tell you they'll sell you something, and then sell it under your nose.

Especially when you're trying to get something to help out a mate

i wouldve had a lovely top secret style carbon bonnet now if that shit didnt happen :P

  • 2 months later...

Thought I'd add this to the mix:

1. People with lack of spatial awareness. For instance, people who walk onto a travelator/escalator and block the whole width of the thing to have a yap with their mates/play with each others' phones or snog in front of everyone stuck behind them. Some people actually want to keep moving to live,so let them by,morons! How 'bout 'keep left'?!? Are you all so lazy that you'll slow to a crawl as long as it's not you doing the work?F**k...

2. Self important nobodies. Scene:a line for bakery stuff at Bakers Delight in Belconnen. Said V.I.P.(Very Important Punk) doesn't pay any respect to the line up by standing at the counter and placing his order. The dork is actually someone you may've all seen on the TV:in politics, older, hooked nose,beard....see if you can work it out.Anyway...

Me: "Geez, you must be a pretty important figure"

Idiot, suddenly noticing there is something going on outside his little world: "Yes,I am;why do you say that?"

Me: "Because you're too wrapped up in yourself to notice that REAL people can form an orderly line and wait their turn..."

Idiot, now embarrased, and with the crowds' eyes upon him: "yes, well,I'm in a bit of a rush..."

Me: "I'd imagine some of the people here in this line are, too. The difference is,you're a f**kwit who doesn't care about others, but these people have some respect for manners and those around them...So,now you've been served, get on your way, little man."

Idiot: red faced,and no answer...

F**K...

3. EMO's that spend more time in front of the mirror, and use more beauty products, than most supermodels, just to try and look non-conformist and alternative...Life's so hard, boys and girls? Here's a Red Bull, some Vitamin C and a nailgun:get into it,will ya?

F**K,F**K,F*******K!

Mostly I can't get mad at someone JUST because they're stupid;they can't help their upbringing sometimes. However, rudeness, lack of commonsense and blatant stupidity flick my switch...

    • And finally, the front lower mount. It was doubly weird. Firstly, the lower mount is held in with a bracket that has 3 bolts (it also acts as the steering lock stop), and then a nut on the shock lower mount itself. So, remove the 3x 14mm head bolts , then the 17mm nut that holds the shock in. From there, you can't actually remove the shock from the lower mount bolt (took me a while to work that out....) Sadly I don't have a pic of the other side, but the swaybar mounts to the same bolt that holds the shock in. You need to push that swaybar mount/bolt back so the shock can be pulled out past the lower control arm.  In this pic you can see the bolt partly pushed back, but it had to go further than that to release the shock. Once the shock is out, putting the new one in is "reverse of disassembly". Put the top of the shock through at least one hole and put a nut on loosely to hold it in place. Put the lower end in place and push the swaybar mount / shock bolt back in place, then loosely attach the other 2 top nuts. Bolt the bracket back in place with the 14mm head bolts and finally put the nut onto the lower bolt. Done....you have new suspension on your v37!
    • And now to the front.  No pics of the 3 nuts holding the front struts on, they are easy to spot. Undo 2 and leave the closest one on loosely. Underneath we have to deal with the wiring again, but this time its worse because the plug is behind the guard liner. You'll have to decide how much of the guard liner to remove, I undid the lower liner's top, inside and lower clips, but didn't pull it full off the guard. Same issue undoing the plug as at the rear, you need to firmly push the release clip from below while equally firmly gripping the plug body and pulling it out of  the socket. I used my fancy electrical disconnect pliers to get in there There is also one clip for the wiring, unlike at the rear I could not get behind it so just had to lever it up and out.....not in great condition to re-use in future.
    • Onto the rear lower shock mount. It's worth starting with a decent degrease to remove 10+ years of road grime, and perhaps also spray a penetrating oil on the shock lower nut. Don't forget to include the shock wiring and plug in the clean.... Deal with the wiring first; you need to release 2 clips where the wiring goes into the bracket (use long nose pliers behind the bracket to compress the clip so you can reuse it), and the rubber mount slides out, then release the plug.  I found it very hard to unplug, from underneath you can compress the tab with a screwdriver or similar, and gently but firmly pull the plug out of the socket (regular pliers may help but don't put too much pressure on the plastic. The lower mount is straightforward, 17mm nut and you can pull the shock out. As I wasn't putting a standard shock back in, I gave the car side wiring socket a generous gob of dialectric grease to keep crap out in the future. Putting the new shock in is straightforward, feed it into at least 1 of the bolt holes at the top and reach around to put a nut on it to hold it up. Then put on the other 2 top nuts loosely and put the shock onto the lower mounting bolt (you may need to lift the hub a little if the new shock is shorter). Tighten the lower nut and 3 upper nuts and you are done. In my case the BC Racing shocks came assembled for the fronts, but the rears needed to re-use the factory strut tops. For that you need spring compressors to take the pressure off the top nut (they are compressed enough when the spring can move between the top and bottom spring seats. Then a 17mm ring spanner to undo the nut while using an 8mm open spanner to stop the shaft turning (or, if you are really lucky you might get it off with a rattle gun).
    • You will now be able to lift the parcel shelf trim enough to get to the shock cover bolts; if you need to full remove the parcel shelf trim for some reason you also remove the escutcheons around the rear seat release and you will have to unplug the high stop light wiring from the boot. Next up is removal of the bracket; 6 nuts and a bolt Good news, you've finally got to the strut top! Remove the dust cover and the 3 shock mount nuts (perhaps leave 1 on lightly for now....) Same on the other side, but easier now you've done it all before
    • OK, so a bunch of trim needs to come off to get to the rear shock top mounts. Once the seat is out of the way, the plastic trim needs to come off. Remove 2 clips at the top then slide the trim towards the centre of the car to clear the lower clip Next you need to be able to lift the parcel shelf, which means you need to remove the mid dark trim around the door, and then the upper light trim above the parcel shelf. The mid trim has a clip in the middle to remove first, then lift the lowest trim off the top of the mid trim (unclips). At the top there is a hidden clip on the inner side to release first by pulling inwards, then the main clip releases by pulling the top towards the front of the car. The door seal comes off with the trim, just put them aside. The the lighter upper trim, this is easy to break to top clips so take it carefully. There is a hidden clip towards the bottom and another in the middle to release first by pulling inwards. Once they are out, there are 3 clips along the rear windscreen side of the panel that are hard to get under. This is what the rear of the panel looks like to assist:
