Its like this:

Scooters are the cheapest most basic means of transportation, they get you from a to b.

Make your decision based on that, not what some yobbo f**king trucky thinks of you driving one. Who gives a shit, little does he know what you have lurking at home in the garage :D

Just buy an old 250cc 4-stroke trail bike, throw some decent road-trail rubber on them, paint it matt-black with $7 spraypaint and they go anywhere (like speedhumps, kerbs, medium strips, nature strips, footpaths... hehe!) dont cost very much and no one steals the f**king things because theyre ugly, noisy and look like theyre owned by someone who will rip your cock off and kill your pets.

It doesnt matter who's riding a scooter in Australia, you could be Clint Eastwood with a 44magnum, a keg of beer strapped to each side and a highway patrol officer being dragged by a length of chain behind it and youre still going too be a rampaging arse bandit in the eyes of pretty much everyone.

Yeah, you must mean those little silver scooters the kids ride on to skool eh ? One leg a pumpin and a look of grim death as they grip those handlebars.

But the real tough punk bad ass kids ride skate boards, spray graffiti on public buildings, vandalise bus stops (and probably key Skylines).

Rezzeh, thank god you saw this thread... well the reason I posted this thread was because so far I hadn't met ANYONE in australia who had even heard of this stuff. Like no one's even mentioned it as a passing joke. Eeeeevery monkey's heard of customised choppers, but no one's ever heard of customised japanese cruisers. And its not like guys here don't have access to the base models to start modding them either... they're in almost every motorbike dealership at the back because no one wants em.

Seriously scooter is a bad name for these bikes, they're like cruisers. Hell even BMW and Buell are starting to release copies of these japanese big scooters.

Dude I've been looking at these too, Have a look at the Honda Forza.

This shop has some way cool customs, I put a couple of pics on a ZT thread about these. :D

No the local market isn't ready, and has no idea anyway but that makes it more awesome haha

There is a big aftermarket for them. I wouldn't expect people on here to get it, but if you like them, do it. pimp it out and have fun.

yeah i posted up on ZT as well when this came up. is the forza available in oz tho? some of the more modern ones like the suzuki skywave aren't available...

You look liek a f**kign dickhead no matter what, but if your not a faggy little prissy metro gaylord, and you dont give a shit what ppl think, they are great.

thats what full face helmets are for :P

Yep you can actually buy them new from Honda. Pretty pricey though..

The first thing to go would be the windshield.

Oh god... they look hideous in factory form. I'm leaning towards a majesty because I'm used to the yamaha 250cc 4 strokers having owned an SR250 a few years ago.

thats what full face helmets are for :P

lol hide your shame with a shoei.

although been lookin at the Reevu helmets... how cool are these things... with inbuilt rear view mirrors.

thats pretty crazy, but itd probs cost u ur left nut.

well apparently if I own a scooter I won't have any of those to spare :P

I was looking at a scooter at one stage, mainly due to the petrol prices.....and once I learnt that hte oil reserves were dropping at a quick rate - i decided to f**k it and get the skyline :O

I think if its what u want then go for it!

Eventually a lot of people will start buying these once petrol prices go up to $2 a litre - i see a few people in the city riding them now

Im half tempted to get my bike licence and get a bike myself

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
