well guys....found a cheaper alternative, 350 cheaper. I got it dyno'd before and after. completely stock at 144.5rwkw to 169.0rwkw. Very happy with the result, and now on my way to 200rwkw.

Im not an expert but i think it has to do with back pressure so i was told, from experience with my car i had a 3.5" exhaust with a 5" tip hks cannon, the car makes 330 rwkw and it did have lag. The turbo didnt cut in til 4000rpm.

Changed it to a 3" pipe and smaller cannon, it feels more responsive quieter and the turbo cuts in at 3500rpm.

wrong wrong wrong

Turbo cars = bigger exhaust the better

There was something else wrong with your setup, it wasnt exhaust related, unless said exhaust had poor bends etc.

Hence im going twin ~2.75" for my setup and only after 300-330rwkw

let's just say i removed the cat but still had the cannon out the back (making the car seem normal and safe) but in true fact had a GAP in the exhaust so all id have was an aftermarket dump/front pipe then an empty space then the rest of the exhaust.. would i have extreme spooling and extreme kw increase?.. (apart from the loud noise)

Do you mean putting a replacement pipe in where the cat was?

there will be a minor gain possibly

ok let me re-explain... complete exhaust system is taken off... all that is left is the dump pipe and front pipe safely bolted on the bottom of the car

The car will be so illegal it wouldnt be funny.

Your NOT allowed to run a car with an exhaust that finishes that soon, it has to be past the rear pillar or whatever to pass the most basic exhaust requirements

Plus it will be that loud you wont get far without half the neighbourhood reporting you.

So dont expect "extreme spool, power increase"... expect the "extreme ass kick" local authorities will give you for being stupid

trust me... in perth we go for car cruizes all night and no1 looks 2wice to try an " extreme ass kick " on us.. im just curious if it would have an overall performance increase

i've been to perth actually and i saw a different view :(

Funny eh?

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
