Steve,

Who told you there was lots of space left? I spoke to Lloyd who is organising it and he said there is very little space left inside, hence only being able to put around 6 cars in. If you have been told otherwise that's great and we should make a decision quickly so we can book.

If we have to have a display inside and out I say we put 6 of the best modified cars inside and do the full model run outside. At both displays we can have signs telling people about the other display.

Summoner,

It's at Belmont Racecourse again.

I have spoken to Lloyd and we have definately got a spot inside booked. They are going out to Belmont next week to measure it up for us and will let me know how much space we have. From that we can work out how many cars we can fit, what display we will do etc... We have to provide all power cords, extension cords etc. They need to be taped to the floor, all cars on display need to have a cover underneath them for any leaks etc. The cost is $50 per car, this includes entry in the Show n Shine, Dyno Comp and driving events. The driving events are optional and numbers are limited.

Outside we can have as much space as we like, and pretty much do as we like. If we want (and can afford) to put a marque up we can. In terms of security overnight they are looking in to it and will advise.

What we will do is work out what cars will go into the show and fill in all the entry forms and submit them together as a club.

As was suggested maybe inside we can go the workshop theme with modded cars, and outside have a big display showing the range of Skylines we have in the club. Off the top of my head I thought of this list for outside:

Jash's old skooler

R30's (2 door , 4 door)

R31's (2 door, 4 door)

R32 GTST

R32 4 door

R32 GTS4

R32 GTR

R33 GTST

R33 4 door

R33 GTS4

R33 GTR

R34 GTT

R34 4 door

R34 GTR

That's 16 I can think of, plus the cars inside would take the total to around 22ish.

I think we have most models covered except for R34 GTR, anyone know someone who is willing to donate one for the show?? Wouldn't have the same impact without it I guess...

I'm happy to host a meeting at my place to work things out. What we can also do is over a couple of weeks have each model turn up at a set place and we can as a group decide which is the best example to put in the show. Let me know what you guys think but we should get this underway as time will pass pretty damn quick.

One other thing that will need to be decided is if the club members will all donate towards the display, or only the entrants will..

Midweek or weekends are ok for me to host a first meeting.

Cheers

Brett

ok i'll lend you guys my R34 GTR... :P

but seriously, we should have a meeting to work out the details on which cars will be displayed on the inside and outside. however, it would be handy to confirm the amount of space that we are able to work with

Thanks Jeff, hope you didn't think I was assuming we would have your car, just using it as an example... What's with the missing 'TT' from the end of that engine type dude!!!! ha ha ha

Are you putting a C-Red display on or is GTAAH available, (maybe even big red if ya still got her??)

Brett

Yeah bought the Autech DE from JMS. I was going to build up a stroker L Series, but by the time I did the sums the 26 worked out better. Big Red's motor is in GTAAH yeh and Big Red will be sold either stock or with a pair of RX6s. We'll have a display on yeah.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
