Hey guys,

Bad news unfortunately.......................motor goneskis :)

Leaned out on me the other night, tried driving it the next day no compression.

Pulled it down, piston cracked, rings melted into the grooves.............bad news.

Sent it to an engine rebuilder. hoping to get it back by friday.

I did it on Monday was out by Monday night.

At the engine rebuilders Tuesday morning, and hes working on it all week.

Updated - He said latest next monday.

He's given me a price. $270.

New piston, ring, top end bearing, honed bore, all gaskets and everythign else required

Cheap as?

I thought it was a good price, but not cheap as.

yeah only one piston.

Steve, I can ask him if you want, but he doesn't have much experience in those motors.

I wont do the standard rebuild, but yeah it cant hurt to know who he is etc, would you mind posting his details? Or PM if thats better for you?

Cheers

yeah, you guys are all massive knuckle heads. didn't the fact that it was a SINGLE piston engine, and had YAMAHA stamped into it give it away? man, i am never letting any of you guys near my car!
