All r33s are type-m and you r refering to a series 2, they have different bonnet headlights and frontbar.

lol my bad..that's why ppl come over here to be educated rite ? =)

i guess i will take the flaming as part and parcel of being in the community

anywayz, thanks for ur last sentence...know i now wat to get for a Type-M front

R33S2 - I think he is referring to getting his S1 to look like a R33 S1 with the Mspec bumper and side skirts. Not a Series 2. I know ppl say all R33's are Type M but a lot of car dealers/importers refer to a Series 1 M-spec as the version that came with the sideskirts and different front bar from factory

The dealers would be wrong. I've been saying this for ages. People on the forumn have only started realising it after the r34 gtr Mspec came out.

There is no such thing as r33 gtst m spec. Jspec also calls it the wrong thing. It's Type-m.

It's just like do you call an integra R spec?

I was looking to do this on my r33 but i cant find a secondhand "M-Spec" (haha just to annoy Manwhore) front bar in good condition and reasonable price in WA. Carmate sells a replica on their website though. Pretty sure you dont have to change the headlights

so...the help guys?

lolz...u know the series where the front bar looks hell lot "Fiercer" than the current GTS-T S1...

was wondering if anyone did it..and whoever did it...how much ...

Maybe this is what you meant?

This was the bar that came on my car when I bought it (non type m)

post-29425-1160220171.jpg

& this was a type m I put on my car

post-29425-1160220496.jpg

The bar cost me $150 from a guy I met on this forum & it cost me $350 to get it painted, probably only $200 without the two-tone paint.

The bar looks great & you can't tell the difference in colour where the bar meets with the guards.

Hope it helped :)

Ladies and Gentlemen...

we got a winner..thanks so much Yo-yo..

a pic says a thousand words..2 pics 2 thousands words =)

thanks..the price..is not too shabby too...so wif the front bar..there's space for an aftermarket intercooler and all?

No worries mate,

I was planning on a front mount but now I'm not going to bother as I am trading up to an r34.

I've been told the type m bar needs to be slightly modified to fit a front mount. Apparently they need to cut out the middle part that holds the licence plate... but that's also where most of the bar is fitted to the front reo bar :whistling:

Maybe somebody on these forums has done it before & can shed some light on this.

just so you know, all turbo r33's are type m, except for some of the auto's. i had what is refered to as a non type m bar on my car, but according to FAST my car is a type m. i think it depends on whether the car has ever been in a crash. the non type m bar is actually the sedan front bar.

Are you 100% sure that it is the sedan front bar? I dont think this is true. Then what about the side skirts and rear pods? And ive also seen pics from old Nissan advertisements of the coupes with this front bar. Also a number of websites claim that the R33 GTST came out with a number of bodykits, lights etc. Its just like how ppl reckon only 95 onwards came with drivers airbag, however mine is a 94 and has an airbag.

And Im NOT saying that all turbo r33's arent type m

drivers airbag was optional on pre 95 model r33s. as were sideskirts.

the r32's had differences between the type m and the standard gts-t such as leather gear boot and handrake cover, leather steering wheel and bigger brakes. all of these features are standard on all of the r33 gtst's.

the only other reason for the different front bars i have found was that there was an optional front bar for gtst's.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
