satanic
Firstly; hats off to Jimbo for being the one mature enough to close this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=137458&hl= Seriously; what the hell are some people thinking? Or are we just all overly bored at work/at home? I dare say that most of us enjoy using SAU for both technical and social reasons; for most on a daily basis... seeing threads like this really diminishes the experience; if people wanted to see naked women then I'm sure they'd go elsewhere. Furthermore; a lot of people are accessing SAU from work... most companies employ some sort of IT service; some of which monitor the content being accessed by staff. I'm sure no one wants to be pulled up for viewing "explicit" material while at work now right I think the Moderators should enforce this more strictly; maybe even lay down some new rules about it. satanic
I'd much rather be explaining why I'm on a car forum than why I'm looking at porn. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/137518-adult-material/#findComment-2560624 Share on other sites

Munkyb0y
yeah, as much as i like to see the hotties, and the frenzies they create, i have to agree that it's inapropriate for the reasons mentioned above. alot of corporate IT systems will not distinguish between you viewing pics on SAU, or you viewing the site from which they are hotlinked, which may well be a xxx site, with a very obvious name. I work for myself, and so dont have this problem, but i sympathize with those that do. R31Nismoid
I think the Moderators should enforce this more strictly; maybe even lay down some new rules about it. Cant say that without providing a how. IF people are gonna link images, you cant stop that mate. We give them warning points (well, jimbo should be handing them out) and eventual banning. Not a lot more we can do. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/137518-adult-material/#findComment-2561814 Share on other sites
Jimbo2000
Attention: from now on a warning will be issued for (what I or another SAU teammate deem to be over the top - whether that be in quality or quantity) softcore porn. people compaining shall be linked to this thread where it is clear that the SAU community dosnt want that shit just as much as myself. consider yourselves warned. MKDR33
i personally think its harmless, and dont classify most of the pics posted on SFN as PORN material.. Fair enough some of those pics were a bit too much, but if u cant look up girlie pics at work, then DONT open the bloody thread! SKY031
if u cant look up girlie pics at work, then DONT open the bloody thread! How are people to know what's inside the thread without clicking? Why would you think that everyone wants to see girly pics? This is an automotive forum, and should be safe to be viewed by people of all ages. If you want to see skin, go to a site that specializes in skin. MKDR33
SKY031, im sorri, but arent u the one that posted that freakin pic of Robbie Williams' ass on my 'Poll this' thread? u hypochrite bastard, youve posted in the SFN thread aswell.. oh and the Thread speaks for itself, if the topic states pics, then DONT open it! You know what diminishes my forum experience? You. Do you ever stop complaining? I've said it once, and I'll say it again. If you're viewing SAU at work, instead of doing your job, there are three steps a SMART person would take: 1) Disable Images in your CP 2) Stay out of The Wasteland 3) If you have doubts about the thread's content, DON'T CLICK ON IT! Pictures of scantily clad women should be fine in The Wasteland, Hell, it gives the place a bit of variety, many people enjoy it. Shouldn't be posted anywhere else though. If you want to read TECHNICAL topics, read the TECHNICAL forums. If you want to read SOCIAL crap, read your WHORE threads. If you want to read amusing topics, which may be somewhat controversial and unsuitable for work, view the WASTELAND. Are you that stupid that you cannot work out the difference between areas? If somebody was posting pics of some naked woman in the middle of a thread about an RB25 rebuild it would be understandable, but that's not what's going on at all. Man this place has gone to shit. Everybody here is sooking over one thing or another. R31Nismoid
People shouldnt have to "stay out of an area" because of the possibility there may be a woman in underwear at the next mouse click Its that simple, this isnt your forum, you obey the rules that are set out by Admin/Moderators The rules are quite clear. And at the end of the day, if you dont like it, go somewhere else Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/137518-adult-material/#findComment-2562699 Share on other sites
Jimbo2000
Ryan: when did you get so bloody high and mighty? why feel the need to go after someone personally when he raises a legitimate complaint?. If you want the full story then here it is there WAS a thread called "sexy female names and photo's" or some such wording which did have chicks in swimsuits and the likes. IT WAS HERE WITHOUT ANY BIG PROBLEMS FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF. Nobody had a huge problem with it true, its a bit sad that what i assume to be grown men wanting to share pics of scantily clad women and then pat each other on the back (really i think i did that when i was about 12??) but anyway it was all alright until a couple of shots were taken too far... then the thread was deleted. Another thread of the same calibre was opened and the participants were informed that if they didnt take it too far, that there again would be no big problem, we're not nazi's here. BUT AGAIN IT WAS TAKEN TOO FAR!!! and subsequently removed. now it seems there pics popping up everywhere out of some kind of keyboard warrior rebellion and its simply not on! and when it comes to some people saying you should be working and not surfing SAU at work, who are you to say that? that dosnt really have anything to do with it. thats not the only reason this sort of thing is frowned upon.. there are plenty of others. d0p3y
Ryan: when did you get so bloody high and mighty? why feel the need to go after someone personally when he raises a legitimate complaint?. It's extremely lame so be saying that any images of women and whatnot should not be posted here (even in the correct area) JUST because a small minority of people view SAU at work and don't want to get caught with inappropriate material on their screen. As I stated earlier, it's about personal choices and there are steps the individual should be taking to cover their own ass rather than whinging at the rest of the world and ruining it for everybody else. If one wants to use SAU for technical puposes only, use the technical forums. There's not going to be any images of women in there now is there? If one wants to use SAU to talk to their 'friends', use the whore forums in their state, there's bound to be nothing offensive in there right? Easy. If people are taking things too far (ie: Hardcore porn) MODERATE the posts and discipline those involved to ensure things are kept on track. Thats your job as a MODERATOR right? Not to decide "Hey! No more pictures of women because <whoever> posted a pic which was too borderline." This argument has been around for so long and the only FAIR solution to all is as I've stated - EVERYBODY should take more care and personal respobsibility, that way NOBODY feels hard done by. The nazi approach is extremely unfair to many. You all need to get off your high horse and have a think about problem resolution rather than stepping on people where you see fit. MKDR33
agreed ^^ and i know a majority of ppl on SAU would also agree with this too.. jst cause of the few mods on here that dont agree, the rest have to suffer.. i enjoy coming on here for a chat, info, help etc. but when it comes to having some fun, u guys really have to step in and ruin everything.. id rather come on here then go on boostcruising or watever, u guys are really forcing ppl to leave this forum, thats the way it seems..
