Like explained before if a car the weight of a skyline only put 300 od newtonmts at the treads then it wouldnt move...

Gears and diff are torque multipliers hence the figure you get is accurate reading of what ur car is putting at the tyres...

Different gears will give u different torque readings...

Model: Nissan Skyline R34 GT Saloon [R34 RB25DE] Neo, Tiptronic

Mods: Splitfires, 98RON fuel (UK) (Otherwise standard)

Power: 136.2 BHP @ 6000 rpm | 101 rwkw @ 6000rpm (At the wheels)

There is a bit of a glitch around the 5000 mark, does the variable cam come in at this point? Is there anything I can do with the fueling to smooth / lift the power curve?

Dyno_1_1_220207_2_s.jpg

Also does anybody know how I can determine the peak torque from this graph?

134.1 on RE Customs dyno

img002.jpg

mods: Apexi pod, 2.5inch exhaust: front pipes, metalcats and catback. still running stock headers, harmonic balancer, flywheel and running stock tune.

future mods: extractors and ecu remap. hoping for 150rwkw. haven't decided if i am going to go to lightweight flywheel and harmonic balancer yet.

Model - 1986 R31 GX

Engine - RB30DE (30 bottom, 26 top)

Modifications - Aftermaket ECU, chromoly flywheel, Nismo pressure plate, balanced rods, over 12:1 comp, N1 GT-R rings, GT-R water pump, GTS-T oil pump, RB25DE pistons, oil restrictors, crank grub screwed.

Power - 139.2 rwkw or 186 rwhp at 5800 rpm

MISC - Still running the turbo cams (very bad for n/a application) and still have the 2.25 press bent exhaust. With new cams, exhaust and rods, it should see +180 rwkw

ok, well i will list my 2 natro cars that i have had on the dyno (neither skylines though). will scan dyno sheets when i find them.

2000 n15 SSS pulsar

genie extractors

2" press bend system (which i want to get redone because it is just one we bodged up 1 arvo) with 12" centre resonator and lukey muffler (not a cannon)

k&n panel filter

fuel - dunno. probably 91 octane. can't remember

112hp atw (approx 84kw)

2000 mitsubishi magna (3.5L manual)

first run: 100% stock, rear muffler was a cannon, but rest of the piping was stock

159hp atw (approx 118kw)

second run: pacemaker extractors, 2.5" redback centre system (cat to rear axle), 2.5' lukey rear system k&n panel filter

170hp atw (approx 127kw)

1999 magna (same as previous one, manual 3.5L)

never dyno'd, but felt more powerful as the previous one had been thrashed a fair bit.

redback 2.5" exhaust

14.8 at willowbank with 2.18 60ft time

1993 R32 RB25DE GTS25

2.5" full system with race cat, K&N panel filter

first up it pulled 88.1rwkw...we found it out had a blocked fuel filter and shagged fuel pump

so after replacing both of them it pulled 111.2rwkw

then after the remap i had done today it pulled 122.2rwkw

so the remap, walboro fuel pump and new fuel filter it gained 34 odd rwkw

update on where my car stands.

dynoed with:

spitfire coil packs ngk plugs

ported and polished head

K&N panel filter

and standard exhaust

down to 180bhp and 156lbft of torque from the stock figures.

since then ive added coby d12 headers (not ceramic coated or wrapped as yet)

standard catalyst into threeinch pipe to calsonic back box.

yet to dyno this set up ..(delayed due to 4wd issue)

also for info ..anyone with an r33 saloon (gts4 or rwd)the rear subframe is identical to a rwd coupe gts and therefore the whiteline kit listed ofr the gts witll fit ..(and makes a big difference)

    • Well, this is probably where a wiring diagram and a multimeter come into play.
    • I can say to anyone thats doing this; having done a number of R clusters; just be careful if its an unknown cluster.  It takes a bit of force to pull up; but if it feels excessive then its probably stuck. I've had this and pulled the entire hair spring out; and I can tell you; its not easy getting the correct spring replacement with the correct inner diameter and winding. In my case someone had used some sort of adhesive to stick it to the spindle and it pulled the whole spindle out; which the force seperated the hairspring from the spindal and caused it to deform.  You may have to clean it (IPA); or in my case if i'd known i should have used some sort of solvent on it.  Also check out Cruizin Central on eBay. He does all sorts of dials; and you can email him with any custom designs you want. So if you want like certain logos etc...he'll send you a mock of what it will look like then you accept the order and he'll take care of the rest. Fantastic dials and he can do basically any design you want.
    • Have you confirmed its the actual axles? Also the wheel bearings that mount on the hubs to hold the axles wear out. I replaced mine as they got play in them. It sorted my play issue.
    • Ive converted a few clusters for the R33 with 320km/h dials. On the back there are some pads which can be bridged or unbridged (using solder or wick braid) to calibrate it. There is one bridge which is for MPH <> KPH; and there are combinations of bridges to offset it. There is probably a diagram  For example; this is my conversion for a 180km/h dial to a 320km/h dial (I put custom GT-R dials on it with the GTS25t layout) If you have J2 soldered (assuming the S clusters have a similar config to the R clusters); you may need to remove that solder
    • Back on topic 😉, these are some of the notable pages from the booklets that are supplied with each weekly parts update. I never knew the BNR32 test mule car had an S13 Silvia front end... *Edit: On closer inspection the test car still had the R32 body, but only the front end had Silvia panels etc.
