Duncan,

I assume my slicks are not allowed? If not I will need some rubber for the event. I would like to drive bathurst, its a once off occasion. How much drive time do you get?

slicks are allowed. just means you compete in Type 4

its definitely an event worth doing. last year we got 5 runs of the Conrod Supersprint and 4 runs at the Mountain Straight Hillclimb.

Good idea Chris

Also, ill be coming up but not driving (someone lend me their car for a run?) the event, has someone organised accomodation?

If so, ill come up and do the pub thing with you lot, otherwise ill leave Sydney early Sunday and head up :P

Paul, what Harry said is correct,,,but running slicks anyway is not a great idea. You won't get any heat in to them and you would be much better off running semi's mate.

You will enjoy the weekend though.

Neil.

Cant make sunday - in the office - and spewing you cant make it Jon

for those who have entered - theres my thread in the other section - just post there so we can get a list of who is coming etc

My application for a leave pass was refused, apparently we have to look after Zane's little girl for the night and apparently being 35 weeks pregnant means you have to have your husband round for moral support. Enjoy yourselves!

I'll be up there too but won't have the skyline cause of the tree, hope to have it back on the road in january so i can drive on the cruise we are trying to organise.... just hope the council pays for the repairs.... i'll bring up some photos to show you kane. But it looks like it'll take a while for them to decide whether they pay for the repairs or if it goes to court. :(

Neil was up there competing in the capri too, and a local GTR was entered as well, it was a good weekend with a huge field (150 entrants!). Crap weather on fridy night tho!

It was an interesting competition for outright class, Gumley has won the last few years and did hold the record, 22.81....but over the weekend 4 people went under the record, pretty amazing.

And the $300k specialist car that flew out from the UK didn't take the win :whistling: It was a local F3000 car instead....21.62!

yeh that gtr was mad.. anyone know what mods he has???

yes crap weather friday but not to bad the other days.

also a unreal 260z with 6.6l in it 4wd to heard someone say gtr running gear?????

hahah you probably heard me dribbling crap then! I was under the impression it did have gtr running gear, but they were kind enough to leave the car there overnight so I could roll around underneath.....looks like hilux 4wd drivetrain.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
